Alex Emms (The Vale Golf Club) claimed the Whittington Trophy for a second consecutive year yesterday, prevailing through inclement conditions and three playoff holes in a compelling contest.

In 1927, we commissioned the legendary Harry S. C**t to remodel and extend our original routing into a complete eighteen holes. By utilising the natural heathland terrain, he created a brilliant layout that stands equal to any in the Midlands. His timeless design principles and strategic bunkering remain firmly intact today through much of our course, offering a taste of historic golf.

Thanks to our sandy heathland subsoil, heather remains a defining feature of our course. We are quietly counting down the months until August, when a purple glow will light up our tees, fairways, and greens, beautifully framing our Harry C**t layout.

Measuring just 139 yards, our eleventh is our shortest par three on the course. Yet, it remains quite formidable. Here is every angle.

Although we've seen several holes constructed over the last six years, true classics like our twelfth hole remain untouched. A look back down the fairway from the green reveals exactly why this is stroke index one. The demanding heather-lined fairway and the undulating green combine to create a brilliant test of golf.
