Sheila has been riding with me for quite a few years and it’s a real pleasure to now have her riding with me at my own riding centre ☺️

We had a good session yesterday and this was caught when Sheila was totally unaware, she bent down to give our lovely schoolmaster Zeb a cuddle 🥰

Sheila is 72 and Zeb is our oldest boy at 25.
Zeb looks really happy, no gadgets on, no harsh bits, and just a really comfortable horse 🐎

I think this photo captures what we pride ourselves most on, happy, healthy horses that want for nothing and lessons that riders enjoy and can feel and see improvement ☺️

A very happy day

Today we had our second day of recordings for the Pony Club Howden Centre Equitation Competition! 🐎

As we are a Pony Club Linked Centre, we have access to this great competition which is online and will be judged September

Our riders learnt a dressage test and then rode a course of 8 jumps either at 50cm or 60cms. Both are judged on style and how the riders made a relationship with their pony ☺️🐴

Some of our riders, who are not quite ready to jump this year joined in by riding a test and then trotting the course as poles on the ground, they will enter the intro class, where everyone will receive a rosette 🏵️ and a certificate

Well done everyone! 👏🏻 you were all amazing 🤩

We have had a lot of new customers register with EcPro which is wonderful ☺️

You need to book an ASSESSMENT lesson in the first instance so we can grade you and suggest the pathway forward for you, we need to do this to help you with your riding goals and to suggest appropriate groups or privates

We are pretty much at capacity for riders at this current time, but do have a few spaces that crop up to get your assessment lesson booked in.

🌾🌾E N D O F W E E K 🌾🌾

On Monday we waved goodbye to our weekend guests before giving both huts a full turnaround, ready to welcome our Tuesday arrivals.

Our next guests were visiting from Essex for their first visit and made the most of an early check in before enjoying a 3 night stay exploring the forest, both on horseback and on foot.

We also welcomed back returning guests from Norfolk to Lime Tree Lodge for a 5 night stay. They spent their time simply relaxing and making the most of the peace and quiet. I ventured out with our guest a couple of times on Lottie for 2 fabulous hacks over at West Tofts.

Yesterday we welcomed more returning guests from Essex to Horseshoe Hut for a 2 night stay, and we hope they’re having a wonderful time.

A little update on our new boy, Joey… he’s settled in really well. Lottie has made it very clear that she’s still the boss and isn’t afraid to remind him if he gets a little too close to their electric dividing fence! As for Spirit, he’s keeping out of the politics and just doing as he’s told.

Thanks to everyone for commenting on our second hand tack shop. We are having a good think about it and I will let you know if we decide to go ahead.

What a busy day!

We have had a good full day of fab lessons, everyone did really well

Ollie was telling us he was a bit uncomfortable in his saddle so today he has had no expense spared and had a brand new saddle from SG Saddles, who fits all our ponies and horses saddles and comes highly recommended! Sam came straight out and got him fitted up and now he is the proud owner of a very nice saddle! 😬

Rocco was looking a bit bothered by the pesky flies and is now the owner of a lovely new fly rug

Our ponies and horses comfort is paramount and hopefully this then shows when you come and ride them ☺️🐎
