MATCH REPORT - UNDER 12

The U12s faced a strong Spilsby side in very windy conditions, which made for a challenging game for both teams.

Despite the difficult weather, the team showed great determination, teamwork and commitment throughout the match. This was arguably our best team performance of the year so far! From the first whistle to the last, the players worked incredibly hard for each other, showing great attitude, togetherness and a real desire to compete against a very good Spilsby side.
The strong winds made it difficult to play our usual game at times, but the team adapted well to the conditions and continued to work hard in every area of the pitch. There was great effort from everyone, with players supporting each other, battling for possession and showing real team spirit throughout. It was fantastic to see how well the team worked together.

MATCH REPORT - U18

Our Under 18's were back in action at home in blustery conditions against Lincoln Utd.

With injuries and players away, the squad was looking a little thin on the ground but all the team stuck together and played some great football.

Struggling to adapt to the conditions, there were limited chances in the first half which saw us go in at Half Time level at 0-0.

In the Second Half, the lads stepped it up a gear scoring a good team goal to make it 1-0. Two more goals swiftly came following a succession of corners, which allowed the team to relax and show how strong this group is as a collective.

The NFU MOTM today goes to Joah with some great play on the ball and working hard out of posession. 🔵⚪️⚽️

MATCH REPORT - U11s vs Lincoln United 💙⚽️

Our U11's welcomed Lincoln United to Mulsanne Park for what proved to be a hard-fought game in some pretty wild windy conditions.

Lincoln United started the brighter of the two teams, moving the ball well and adapting better to the conditions early on, playing some really positive football. As the half progressed, Nettleham grew into the game and found their rhythm, with Leighton firing home a quick-fire double, taking both goals superbly to give the hosts the advantage.

The second half saw Nettleham start brighter of the two teams, adding another couple of goals in quick succession. Oscar finished excellently, while Archie produced a rocket of a free-kick.

Credit to Lincoln United, who stuck to their task throughout and were rewarded with a well-deserved couple of goals of their own, which their play certainly deserved, setting up a tense and entertaining final 10 minutes. The visitors continued to push forward and forced our goalkeeper into a couple of brilliant saves to preserve the lead.

Well done to both teams for their efforts and attitude in challenging conditions.

⭐ Player of the Match: Leighton

Leighton once again showcased his excellent finishing ability, taking his goals with real confidence. He was a constant threat in behind the defence. A fantastic performance and a thoroughly deserved Player of the Match award.

Well done, Leighton! 💙⚽️👏

MATCH REPORT - U12 Nettles.

Our Under 12 Nettles took the short trip to our friends at Market Rasen yesterday.

The wind was swirling and blustery but both teams coped well and made for an exciting contest.

The Nettles started brightly and on the front foot putting together some neat passages of play but was met by with a resolute Rasen defence who looked to turn defence into attack quickly to cause the Nettles problems at the back.
A swift move down the flank towards the end of the half brought what we thought was the opener but chalked off for offside, so the teams went into the break level.
With a couple of tweaks at Half Time the Nettles established their passing game supported by a strong defensive platform, opened the scoring and started to take control of the game. More goals came and capped off a very pleasing performance for a team that is having to dig deep each week.

Our Player of the Match was given to our new recruit Leon. Leon has come into the group and worked really hard to get his confidence going again and today showed some real endeavour and bravery on the ball. Before being chosen, the kids beat the coaches to it so it was very much well deserved.

Well Done Leon!
