Words from the new President of Sefton RUFC.

“It is a great honour and privilege to accept the position of Club President of Sefton RUFC.

I have been a member of the Club for the past 30 years, as a player, Club captain and more recently,
men’s HEAD coach.

SOMETHING I have noticed during my time at Sefton is the constant strive for improvement. From facilities, team performances, a strong women’s teaM and an ever growing
youth section.

Sefton has a strong involvement in the local community which is the cornerstone to any Club.

With the highly committed Board and a new coaching team the future looks bright and I am excited to be part of it, albeit in a different capacity.

I look forward to seeing you all down supporting the teams that we have and enjoying what the Club has to offer.”

Due to unforeseen circumstances Sefton RUFC are looking for a new Head Coach for the 2026/27 season! This is an amazing opportunity to coach the best Women’s rugby team in Liverpool!

We’re looking for a minimum Level 2 qualified coach & expenses included.

After thirty years at Sefton as a player, Club Captain & men’s section coach, Jamie Luck has been appointed as the new Club President.

PRESEASON STARTS NEXT WEEK! 🫡

Anyone new, returning to the game or already a Sefton Stalwart… this is your call to action. Let’s get down to preseason and hit next season with purpose!

Preseason will run from July to the end of August so that’s 2 months to get ourselves ready for a massive season ahead!

The Men have two preseason fixtures against West Park (H) 8th August & Llandudno (A) 22nd August. The Ladies are still TBC with theirs.

Our new Women’s Head Coach & Assistant Men’s Head Coach has some strong words for the club!

“I’m thrilled to be joining Sefton Rugby Club as Head Coach of the Women’s Section and Assistant Coach of the Men’s Section alongside Danny.

Sefton RUFC is a club with clear ambition, strong foundations, and a real desire to keep moving forward. It’s an exciting opportunity to come on board at such a positive time for the club, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in what promises to be a bright future.

I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and helping build on the success already achieved, particularly within the women’s section, while supporting the continued development of the men’s programme. For me, it’s about creating an environment where players can enjoy their rugby, challenge themselves, develop their skills, and perform to the best of their ability.

Rugby clubs are built by good people, and I’m excited to meet the players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who make Sefton what it is. I’m looking forward to working hard, raising standards, and helping drive the club forward both on and off the pitch.

Can’t wait to get started and see what we can achieve together this season.”
