Little Ship Club

Last week, many of our members took to the water for the 200th Cowes Week, enjoying fantastic racing and some brilliant results ⛵️☀️

It was a successful week for the Little Ship Club fleet, with an LSC team finishing second in the Prometheus 41 class one-day race, Arcadian securing 4th out of 17 in the Weekend Warrior class, and Solid Air placing 6th out of 27 in class. Meanwhile, Raj and Amanda rounded off the week with 8th and 9th in the Sonar fleet on the final day, leaving them 10th and 11th overall from a fleet of 26.

Congratulations to all of our members who took part, and thank you for sharing your photos with us. It was fantastic to see the Little Ship Club so well represented at this landmark edition of Cowes Week! 🌊

Another busy week for Little Ship Club members, with plenty happening on the water near and far!

This week we’ve had members sailing around the Isles of Scilly and Kinsale, joining the Centenary Rally as well as adventures in Croûtes and closer to home on the Thames in Central London.

Plenty of miles, destinations and sailing stories between them. Thanks to everyone who shared their photos with us! 📸

IN THREE WEEKS We’ve got our Solent Buoy Challenge 5 - 2026 Series

Race around the Solent and its approaches, collecting as many points as possible by passing or rounding marks within the challenge time.

Boats can choose their own starting point and use the tide and wind conditions strategically to plan their route. Each mark counts for 1 point, with double points for the Little Ship Club mark.

From next week, Club Nights will be paused throughout August while major refurbishment works continue at the Little Ship Club.

The Club will be closed on Tuesday 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th August.

Members who would still like to meet on Tuesday evenings can do so as usual at The Banker.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Club once works are complete.

IN THREE WEEKS We’ve got our Belgium & Netherlands Cruise

This summer cruise will take members from Ramsgate to Dordrecht, travelling via the coast of Belgium and through the canals and rivers of the southern Netherlands.

Highlights include historic towns such as Willemstad and Dordrecht, time in Ostend, Middelburg, Veere and Blankenberge, plus the Cruise Dinner at Veere Yacht Club. The programme is flexible and may change to suit the participants and the weather.

Our members have been making the most of the summer, with another fantastic selection of photos from around the UK, Ireland and beyond.

This week we’ve seen members exploring Morlaix, taking on Channel crossings and the Channel Regatta, cruising around Adrigole and Lawrence Cove in Bantry Bay, and enjoying time on the water in Oban and Brixham.

Whether it’s a weekend sail close to home or a longer adventure further afield, it’s always great to see where our members end up ⛵️

Last weekend, five Little Ship Club member boats took on the famous Round the Island Race ☀️

With sunshine, great conditions and a fantastic atmosphere around the Isle of Wight, it was a brilliant day on the water for our crews!

Congratulations to the crews of Kusima, Arcadian, Solid Air, Philomela and Samuru for flying the Little Ship Club flag in one of the UK’s most iconic sailing events ⛵️
