Join Samuel Geronimo Deschamps for Soft Acrobatics at Mission on Saturday 24 October from 16:00-18:00.

Inspired by gymnastics, Capoeira and the movement vocabulary of bambubodies , this two-hour workshop explores acrobatics through softness, momentum and flow.

Think rolls, cartwheels, bridges, walkovers and handstand transitions but with a focus on how movements connect, rather than mastering isolated tricks.

Learn to move seamlessly between the floor and standing, using momentum, weight transfer and fluidity to find new possibilities in your movement.

patrick beach is back at Mission.

19–22 November, Patrick returns for Evolve Your Asana: four days of practice, exploration and a deeper look at how we move.

This isn’t about collecting more poses. It’s about understanding the ones you already have: where movement originates, how strength, range and coordination shape your practice, and how curiosity can open up entirely new pathways.

Expect long-form morning practices, movement mechanics, transitions, discussion, experimentation, and plenty of Patrick’s signature playfulness.

24 hours in person at Mission + 10 hours online at your own pace.

Unlimited Members collect 338 SWEATPOINTS yo spend across Mission.

I got my master’s in journalism from Northwestern Medill School where plagiarism was taken incredibly seriously. Someone in my year was kicked out for lifting passages from another writer. Zero tolerance.

That stayed with me: you don’t take other people’s words, ideas or work and pass them off as your own.

Social media has democratised publishing, which is brilliant. Everyone has a voice. But with that, there can be a loss of ethics that should come with publishing.

I see it constantly now, (and it happens to me often) — captions lifted almost word for word, ideas copied, someone else’s work repackaged without credit.

And in the yoga world, there’s an added irony: we have a word for this. Asteya. Non-stealing.

Be inspired. Borrow ideas. Build on them. But credit the person who inspired you.

Giving credit costs nothing. Taking credit for someone else’s work does.

Vanessa Flow explains the Mission phone policy.

Athletes are encouraged to film their progress in our Calisthenics classes. Its a useful part of training and tracking those hard-earned skills.

But in yoga, we ask students not to film during class. Partly to protect everyone else’s privacy, and partly because sometimes the practice is better when it’s just you, your mat and the moment — no camera roll required.

Film the skills. Feel the flow.

Yoga has always evolved. This moment is no different.

In the space of a week, Y7, the US hot-yoga brand known for its music-driven, candlelit classes, closed all eight of its studios, while triyoga, a London institution for more than 25 years, shut its doors.

But people aren’t turning away from yoga. Far from it.

What’s changing is the way we think about movement. We’re recognising the value of strength, cardiovascular fitness, mobility and balance — and how beautifully those things can sit alongside a yoga practice.

Yoga doesn’t need to be everything. It just needs to be yoga.

And perhaps that’s not a retreat, but an evolution.
