Great work tonight across both sessions. More medio in Kali building on last weeks work, moving onwards to Sombrada. Seeking disarms from all contact points. Principles before techniques. Jun Fan, again built from the ground up with footwork. Working ranges and strategy. With focus upon simple repeatable combos we took these from trapping, defence and as offence. Busy session, but the run up to gradings always are. Heavy focus on the white belts looking at the Yellow syllabus whilst coloured belts worked on double stick, defence and pad striking. Loads of pad striking in the menus for next week.

Delighted, and very proud to announce that CJMA has been awarded both the BMBA Club Colours Award & Regulation Ready at Gold level. What this means (in their words) is;
“ Regulation Ready holds clubs to the highest standards of governance, combining robust compliance checks, clearly defined leadership roles, and comprehensive safeguarding and policy oversight. This award demonstrates that the club has met or exceeded nationally recognised expectations across safety, transparency, and operational integrity — ensuring a trusted environment for students, parents, and the wider community”.
Whilst this doesn’t means other clubs are doing anything wrong, it does mean that CJMA are demonstrably doing everything right. Applying the same high standards of training and instruction to every area of the clubs operations

2 very different sessions, each catering to the required material for the event grades. That’s right grading season is here again. A nice mix of stick, clinch and striking for the earlier sessio . Then a very workshop type later class. Impressed by the focus so far of those set to test, still some technical work to go, but all headed on the right trajectory
