The goal doesn’t get easier.
You just get better at keeping your eyes on it.

I can’t be doing this for no reason. It’s got to happen & it will happen.

This generation is the laziest I’ve ever personally seen with my eyes. Too many distractions, run away from hard work. Boxing is really the 1% club. I’ll always speak my mind, people can unfollow if they don’t like the truth. I’m trying to make these kids understand, because they are the future. I’m in professional boxing, but I always talk about the discipline of amateurs because that’s where it all starts.

Take it from me, you’re going to get seriously hurt if you lot don’t take it seriously. It’s not a sport to get into if you’re not willing to make it a priority. When I say priority I actually mean that it comes before friends, alcohol, bad food, girlfriends/boyfriends, late nights partying or even staying up late at home.

I don’t sugar coat nothing to my son. If I say he isn’t taking it seriously, it’s because I know 200% he isn’t. When you’re not disciplined, you’re putting yourself at a higher risk of getting badly hurt.

Boxing is a short career. You can’t be normal, you can’t be like your friends. This is war, life or death.

Not everyone walks through our doors wanting to fight.

Some want to lose weight.
Some want to get stronger.
Some want to improve their fitness.
Some want to switch off from work and clear their head.
Some simply want to feel better in themselves.

And that’s exactly what boxing can do.

You don’t need to spar.
You don’t need to compete.
You don’t even need any boxing experience.

You just need to turn up.

Learn the basics. Hit the bags. Work the pads. Move your body. Build your fitness. Get stronger. Have a laugh. Meet good people.

People often ask why I don’t do many boxing tutorials on my socials.

The simple answer is that my world has always been coaching fighters, and in professional boxing you’ll notice that most coaches working with fighters rarely give away detailed coaching on social media. The gym floor and the corner are where the real work gets done. I come from an old-school boxing background where the knowledge was passed down in the gym, not through a phone screen. Don’t get me wrong, once in a while I will drop some knowledge, but most times I like to talk about boxing in general or the mentality side of the sport. Sometimes I like doing a little breakdown over a fight I’ve just watched.

I also believe boxing is something that is best learned face to-face. Timing, distance, positioning, reactions and feel are difficult to teach through a 60 second clip. I prefer to be hands on, making corrections in real time and helping people develop the right habits from the start.

I understand why some coaches build businesses around online tutorials, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just not my approach. If you want to learn from me, I’d rather you come into the gym, put the gloves on and learn it properly in person.
