For once, a fabulous sunny day for MTC President’s Day! Mary Kirkpatrick is the president of both the tennis and pickleball sections, having introduced pickleball roughly 3 years ago. After many rounds of games, everyone tucked into the copious food before the tricky calculations were made to ascertain the winners of the two cups. The winner of the Gwen Newman cup is June Wardle. The men’s’ trophy was won by Nigel Burrows. Junior prizes were awarded to Christian Li and Thomas Burrows after an unorthodox tie-breaker.

Macclesfield Men’s team player - Will Hurley - is competing in the English National Sheep Dog Trials this weekend at Sutton Hall Farm. With one dog having already competed this weekend, Will’s got his hopes on Sunday’s run as he goes up against some of the country’s most skilled handlers and sheep dogs.

Those who do best will have the chance to go on to compete for International honours.

Will is entry no. 142 and is likely to be on at around 4:30/5pm, so get down and give him some support!
