🥵 ☀️ Hottest week of the year 🎉 . . Our Maidstone Harriers were still out in force putting in some fantastic performances.

⭐️ Congratulations to Charlotte Bates on completing her 400th parkrun at mote park on Saturday 👏🏻

Also on Saturday the Embrace Ultra Three Castles which was a tough one in the ☀️
🏰 50km distance: Aaron Baker, Anthony Bishop, Damo, Dan Patient, Harry Sims, Mark Godden, Tim Phur, Martin Jones, Richard Poole, Christine Moses, Joanna Smit, Nicola Garland, Revati Poole, Mervyn Booth, Kate Philips - Barrett, Liz Dunk, Charlotte Johnston, Tiffany Rookledge, Jessica Howson, Andrews Burgess, Matt Hooper, Steven Scott. Special mention to Liv who tackled some of the course.
🏰 30km distance: Laura Webb, Mia Stockwell, Ruth Houillon and Terry Lynch

⭐️ Charlotte Johnston came 2nd overall and 1st female. Aaron Baker 3rd overall and 2nd male. Out on course volunteering was Tim Hilder, Kerry Underdown, Nigel, Paul Day, Nick Bailey.

⭐️ Another mighty challenge was the 3 peaks which Steve Golding took on ⛰️

⭐️ Folkestone coastal 10k: Lisa Chambers, Daren Chambers, James Cockerham and Ash Duckenfield

⭐️ Russet Runners Marden 10k: Kieron Palmer, Sian Knight-James, Amelia Porter, Imogen Goldsmith, Ethan Damiral, Harry Bamblett, Mike Smith and Rich Ellison

This weekend was a scorcher but it didn't stop the Harriers from getting out in the sunshine and we saw some exceptional performances in tough conditions - huge well done everyone!

💚 There was some Parkrun tourism at Portobello parkrun in Edinburgh

💚 Also in Edinburgh, Sally Howson and Ivonne did Edinburgh 5k on Saturday

💚 Sunday then saw several Harriers run the Edinburgh marathon including Rob Dunhill. Phil Wiltshire, Boba, Andy Roberts, Sam Bassett, Liz Dunk and Terry Lynch

💚 Gavin Vallely did the Great West Half in Exeter and scooped up a PB

💚 Lizzie and Darren Ashford did the standard tri at Bewl

💚 There were also various social runs across the weekend as well as our Time Trial at track night on Tuesday

A huge weekend of running, cycling and triathlon action for the Harriers! 👏

SATURDAY
💚 David Thwaites, Michael White & Ivonne Goetsch completed The Lap — an incredible 47-mile race around Lake Windermere.
💚 Harriers headed off on parkrun tourism to Dover, where Nick Bailey celebrated his 100th parkrun 🎉
💚 Andy Roberts & Andrew Burgess took on the No Man’s Land 2 challenge - marathon distance for Andrew and approximately 40 miles for Andy - coming in first place🥇 💪

SUNDAY
💚 18 Harriers took part in the East Grinstead Triathlon 🏊🚴🏃
💚 Ari Kotsis took part in the Darent Valley 10K
💚 Aimee Dunger achieved a PB at the Bristol Half Marathon.
💚 Danny Hobbs & James Knight both secured PBs at the Maidstone Riverside 10 Miler 👏
💚 Tony Potter & Anthony Bishop completed the “On Your Bike” 30-mile charity ride as part of the Gravesend Rotary Charity event.
💚 Justyna Turl ran the Run Gatwick Half Marathon ✈️
💚 Emma Brenton, Charlotte Johnston & Holly Pan completed the Castle Ride 100 🚴‍♀️

Harriers out in force at local and destination Parkruns, with plenty of PBs flying in 👏

💚James Cockerham took on the East Grinstead 10 Miler
💚 Michelle Johnston & Simon Read competed at Dorney Lake Tri, with Michelle completing her very first triathlon – an amazing achievement! 💪

SUNDAY
Another strong day of racing across the country:

💚Hannah Dunnill completed her first race at the Southampton Half Marathon 🎉
💚 Jim Walker took on the Southampton Marathon
💚 Ash Duckenfield raced the Southampton Half Marathon
💚 James Cockerham was back in action at the Haywards Heath 10 Miler
💚 Laura Wooster travelled abroad for the Venice-Jesolo 70.3 Ironman – incredible effort! 🌍
💚 Will Merrifield completed the Limerick Marathon 🇮🇪

BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY
No rest for the Harriers!

💚A big turnout at the Tonbridge Sprint Triathlon: Catey Bowles, Alice Pledger-Reid, Mark Ho**er, Louise Stewart & Callum Moore all took part 👏
💚 Anthony Warren & Hannah Reid did the standard distance at the Tonbridge Triathlon 💥
💚 Paul Holland ran the Milton Keynes Marathon
💚 Mel Paszkowski and Adam Campbell-Smith raced the Whitstable 10K

1. In MEMORY of David Thornby. Much loved by family, a dear friend to many and part of the Harrier family since the club began. The race was renamed as it was a route he came up with. It means we can remember him In the greatest way possible 💚 so do something he loved and run in memory of him 🙌🏻

2. CAKE 🧁 the race will take place at Little Fant Farm. A family run little cafe and farm. They were finalists in the KM food and drink awards 2026. Top 3 cafes in Kent 👏🏻 Best homemade cakes for after the race.
