🏉 REGIONAL SEASON DELAYED UNTIL THE 21ST

No, this is NOT an April Fool! 😂

England Rugby has announced that the start of the competitive community rugby season has been delayed.

For Regional 1 and below, competitive fixtures scheduled before 21 September will not go ahead as planned, with the season now set to begin from the week commencing Monday 21 September. (England Rugby)

The decision has been made by the RFU, following consultation with the rugby community and consideration of the ongoing drought conditions and hard, dry pitches across England.

Regional rugby just got a little longer to wait… ⏳🏉

Sam Watson represented the Newcastle Red Bulls U17s Academy in the most recent round of matches against Leicester, Bath and the Dragons.
Sam has continued to make outstanding progress over the relatively short time he has been playing and this is testament to his hard work and dedication.
We are all incredibly proud of Sam and are eagerly watching this space to see his achievements in the future.

The family of the late John Redmayne have asked Middlesbrough Rugby Club to share the details of his Funeral which are as follows:
REDMAYNE, John (of Yarm)
Peacefully in hospital on 14th July, John passed away aged 87 years.
A much loved Husband, Dad and Grandad who will be very sadly missed.
Service and Cremation to take place in the Bluebell Chapel, Stockton Crematorium on Wednesday 29th July at 10:30am.
Would friends please meet at the Crematorium Chapel.
Donations in memory of John if desired can be made to The Rotary Club of Stockton-on-Tees. Suddenly and unexpectedly in hospital on 15th July, Newt aged 59 years. Devoted and caring Husband of Michelle and also a much loved and loving Dad of Hannah and Millie.
Graham was a loyal and loving family man, an inspirational and dedicated Chairman of Stockton Rugby Club and a great friend to so many people. Graham will be very sadly missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.

A celebration of Graham’s life will take place in the Maplewood Chapel, Stockton Crematorium on Thursday 13th August at 12 noon. The ceremony will be live streamed to the adjoining Bluebell Chapel. The ceremony will also be live streamed online for those unable to attend in person. Details to access the live stream are as follows:

Before arriving at the Crematorium, Graham’s funeral cortège will leave his home in Yarm and make one final, special visit to his beloved Stockton Rugby Club, arriving at approximately 11:15am.
Everyone is warmly invited to gather at the Rugby Club to pay their respects as the cortège enters the grounds and makes one final journey around the Club that meant so much to him, before continuing on to Stockton Crematorium.
Those wishing to gather at the Rugby Club are then welcome to make their way ahead to Stockton Crematorium prior to the Cortège leaving, or alternatively, you are very welcome to meet at the Crematorium.

After the fantastic success of our last Rugby & LEGO Day, we’re delighted to be bringing it back!

Our previous event saw over 25 young people enjoying a brilliant day of rugby, creativity and teamwork, so due to popular demand we’re running two more sessions!

Each session combines the best of both worlds:

🏉 Morning: Fun rugby games and skill development designed to build confidence, teamwork and reaction skills.

🧱 Afternoon: Creative LEGO challenges that encourage imagination, communication and problem-solving.

Whether your child is new to rugby or already plays the game, these sessions are a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun.
