Big miles. Big efforts. Big Team Orange energy 🧡

Huge well done to everyone representing NRC at the Sunderland Half Marathon and 10K yesterday — racers and pacers alike 👏

From chasing PBs to helping others hit their goals, it was brilliant to see Team orange out on the course soaking up the atmosphere and flying the flag for the club.

Special mention to Mandy Kennon for an absolutely unbelievable 51 miles at the Kendal to Preston Ultra! What an incredible achievement and show of determination!

Elsewhere, members were smashing GNR builder runs, local parkruns, and getting the miles in across the North East.

No matter the distance or goal, it’s brilliant to see Team Orange out there supporting each other and going further together 🧡

🧡 Welcome Back Night 🧡

What a fantastic turnout tonight for our Mental Health May Welcome Back Night.

New faces, old faces and plenty of smiles. The atmosphere from start to finish was absolutely brilliant.

Walking, talking, running, chatting, supporting, laughing… and yes, plenty of funning too 🧡

Tonight was never about pace or performance. It was about getting out, being together and reminding ourselves how powerful movement, community and connection can be.

From those taking that first step back through the door, to those helping others along the way, this was Team Orange at its very best.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make last night so special.

We really do go further together 🧡

What a weekend for Team Orange. 🍊
One of those weekends that really shows what this club is all about!

From ultras to local races, from first steps to finish lines, we had runners and volunteers representing with pride and supporting each other every step of the way.

Saturday at the Beyond Ultra was something special. In tough, warm conditions, Mary dug deep to smash a 50K PB, with hubby Josh supporting her along the way. Ellie put in a huge 23 miles, showing real determination and reminding us all that getting to the start line is often the biggest challenge to overcome.

Over in the 25K, Deb ran her socks off and was rewarded with 3rd in her age category, a brilliant result. Dionne showed exactly what Captaincy looks like, pushing through after a disrupted training block due to injury and still delivering a strong, controlled finish smashing last years time. Amazing!

And while others were out on the course, Nicola was at the finish line, marshalling, encouraging and making sure every runner felt that Team Orange support right to the end.

Sunday carried that same energy.

Zoe smashed a PB at the London Marathon, taking in the crowds and delivering a performance to be proud of on one of the biggest stages there is.

Mandy was over at the Blackpool Marathon, putting in an incredible run and coming away with a well deserved PB.

Over at the Washington Trail 10K, Stefan and Greg took on the hills, uneven terrain and everything that comes with trail racing, showing real grit from start to finish.

Alongside the races, Team Orange was out in force at parkruns across the North East, supporting each other, chasing PBs, pacing friends and simply enjoying being part of the running community.

We’ve also seen the first miles going in for Great North Run training, and it’s exciting to see those journeys beginning.

This is what makes our club special. It’s not just the results, it’s the effort behind them. The early mornings, the consistency, the setbacks, the comebacks, and the people who stand beside you through it all. Whether you were racing, volunteering, training or just getting out for a run, you are part of it. 🧡

If you needed a reason to lace up this week, this is it.

Did you race this weekend? Show us your medals and photos below. Let’s celebrate every achievement, big or small!
