17! Our Barre fam is turning 17! Whaaaa??! 🥳
We’re kicking off the celebrations with a social after classes on Friday 3rd ( for Margaritas 🍸) followed by a client appreciation event in studio on Saturday 4th 🥳
There’ll be fizz, brunch, free barre roulette classes, a free workshop for Barre memberships and of course the annual 100 shot tank giveaway.

💪The shoulder joint needs stability before you can safely add in increased weight, higher reps or big ranges of movement.
💪Without stability your shoulder is potentially dysfunctional in how it functions.
💪Without stability, other muscles that are not the target muscles take over, building imbalances.
💪Adding ‘more’ into a dysfunctional joint can lead to problems.
In Barre you stabilise your shoulders (aka upper core) in every, single, exercise 😬
⚡️Especially though when you then want to work with hand weights, or with your own body weight loaded into your arms (planks, box sequences, rowers, tricep dips etc).

As instructors, we spend hours encouraging you to move, recover, fuel your body and take care of yourself. 🌿✨
But the truth? We struggle with those things too.
Finding time and justifying your own self are can be hard… but we’re in it with you!

Barre isn’t Yoga, and it isn’t Pilates, even though people often group the three together and we think our Pilates / Yoga friends would agree ❤️
Absolutely there is some cross over, especially from studio to studio, so it’s easy to see where the confusion comes from, but each has its own unique focus, method and history.
