Matchday

🆚 Corbridge united

Stan started with intent to play with intensity from the whistle.
Some lovely moves across the pitch seen us with a few early chances. But the keeper with some good stops.

Then a lovely team move finished off by a neat finish from Jack.
His second wasn’t far behind again a good team move with another cool finish slotting past the keeper.
Lads kept moving the ball around and a great team goal again was calmly dispatched from Calvin.
Corbridge kept going and got there rewards. A smart save by cooper was sliced straight to there attacker to poke home.

Second half was abit quieter with chances. But both teams getting there chances. And a mix of good stops and good defending kept the second half goalless.

Match day 4

🆚 killingworth

Early start and another windy morning for a game.

Started abit on the back foot and Killy took advantage of that with a well worked goal.
A few decent chances coming our way which we couldn’t capitalise on. But eventually got 1 just before the half was out. Calvin slipping past the goal keeper.

Second started about like the 1st and again Killy scored with a neat finish. Again the boys kept plugging away and got there rewards with a goal line scramble and Theo bundling it over the line.

Sonny mazy runs down the line into the box ended with a fouls and a pen. Picked himself Upto take it bug couldn’t convert this time.

Killy then finished strong and punished us with a fast counter.

Matchday 3

Heaton Stan W-L Ponteland

After a busy week of football the lads rounded it off with our best performance.

Ponteland smashing the bar within the 1st 10 seconds. Seemed to kick us straight into gear.

The lads were ruthless after that. Strong and direct.

Matchday 2

Gosforth bohemians L-W Heaton Stan blacks

Midweek rush around starts early this season.
But all got there in time for kick off.
Slowish start didn’t take long to settle with James popping one over the keeper from about 30 yards out. Lads kept plugging away and the second come from a well worked corner over the top of everyone to Daniel one touch out his feet and into the top corner. Few close calls for a few more before the whistle but nothing coming.

2nd half lads took on board what we spoke about and straight out hunting the next goal. James again popping up with it low strike through lots of bodies and in past the keeper.
He wasn’t finished there Gosforth free kick falls straight to the feet of him and spots the goal keeper miles away to strike into the open goal again about 20 yards out.

Well done both teams.

Matchday 1

Heaton Stan D-D Whitley bay

What was always going to be a tricky game with the winds picking up. So was a game of 2 halves.

Whitley started well getting on top with the ball but the lads grew into the game and started moving the ball around.
A lovely goal from Theo spotting the keeper off his line and putting the ball over his head to set us off. Another couple chances coming just not being able to capitalise. Just before the half Sonny does what Sonny does went on a mazy run through 3 players then around the goal keeper to put into an empty net.

Playing against the wind in the second half we knew was going to be tough. And Whitley kept the pressure up and pressure paid off with 2 goals to make a last nervy 3 minutes. But it was the Stan who could have won it with James shot just the wrong side of the post.

Well done both teams.

Tournament day today.

7 games
2 goals conceded
11 goals scored
5 wins
2 draws
O defeats (in game)

With 7 players available what an effort by everyone single one of them.
Scorching heat I couldn’t ask for any more.

Finished 2nd in group on goal difference. Progressed through the champions league group all the way to the final.
To get beat on pens which is never nice way to get beat but couldn’t be prouder of the lads.

Well done to all involved. Parents and supporters.

Happy 10th birthday to our number 10 yesterday. Nearly missed it. Happy birthday Calvin.
