Girls’ sport done properly.
A quality day working alongside UCanPlay and the England Talent ID team - and the standard across the Island was excellent.
Massive turnout of girls through the programme, each bringing effort, intent and a willingness to be challenged.
Our role at the Sports Performance Centre was to expose players to the physical side of performance - not just how fast or agile they are, but how they move.
Using speed gates, movement challenges and game-based drills, the aim was simple:
Give them a better understanding of their own athletic profile.
At this age, you’re not trying to completely change athletes… you’re helping them connect with their movement, recognise differences in development, and start to build awareness.
Because not every 14 or 15 year old is in the same place physically - and that matters.
What stood out most wasn’t just performance - it was engagement.
Players asking questions.
Trying things.
Competing.
Learning.
And that’s the bit that counts.
Especially in the older groups, where sport can start to fall away
creating an environment that is enjoyable, but still has purpose is key.
Keep them involved.
Keep them progressing.
Keep standards high.
Big credit to everyone involved in delivering the event this is a strong step forward for girls’ sport on the Island.

We recently tested West Wight FC using our VALD ForceDecks and aerobic fitness testing to see where the squad is at mid-season.
This gave us a clear picture of:
explosive power, reactive strength, landing control, and aerobic fitness.
For football, that matters because players need to
sprint, jump, change direction, recover well, and repeat efforts throughout the game.
Testing like this helps move beyond guesswork and gives players and the management team clear direction for training and development.
Thanks to for the use of the gym.

Brilliant evening with Cowes Sports FC The Yachtsmen delivering some intro to ForceDeck testing alongside explosive plyometric and power work. Objective profiling, the same standards seen in the professional game. Pre-season, we’re looking to go deeper. Full strength profiling, comprehensive fitness testing. Long-term performance development ✔️. Huge credit to the club for recognising the importance of this level of detail, putting player longevity, resilience and performance first. 🔥

Super pleased to see Jess smash her re-testing in the studio yesterday, 7 months on from her initial baselines 📊.
Since July 2025, we’ve been working with Jess remotely - rebuilding postpartum, restoring capacity, and progressively shifting toward high-end performance.
The consistency has been exceptional!
Retest improvements:
⬆ +25% run-specific force improvements
⬆ Significant hip & knee strength gains
✔ Elite reactive strength maintained
All alongside racing:
🏃♀️ 1:10:48 Half Marathon
🏃♀️ 31:56 10K
This is what structured & consistent strength work can do… not just returning after pregnancy, but coming back stronger, more durable, and ready to perform. Huge credit to Jess for the commitment behind the scenes.
Stronger force ceiling. Greater resilience. and she’s only just getting started… 🔥

We had an awesome time over at WightTricks Academy, profiling strength and power with a seriously talented group of young trickers 🔥! The level of athleticism, effort, and energy in the room was unreal. Elite movement & potential, and a brilliant environment for young athletes to grow.Over the coming weeks we’ll be breaking down the data, the purpose behind the testing, and why this kind of work is so valuable for performance and long-term resilience, especially for young growing bodies! You can then see just how impressive these young trickers really are 💪💥
