Every time I step into the ring or hit the pads, I’m forced to face discomfort head-on, whether it’s the burn in my lungs, the sting of a solid shot, or the voice in my head telling me to quit. I’ve realised that mental strength isn’t about never getting knocked down; it’s about breathing through the pain, and pushing on anyway. That resilience now shows up outside the gym too. I walk taller, speak clearer, and trust myself more because I know I’ve already proven I can absorb whatever life throws at me and still keep fighting and it’s all thanks to Jay Morris💪”

I’m fighting to prove to myself I can compete and win alone and out of all the sports i have tried this one relies on me to be successful it’s down to me whether or not I win. It’s also a legal reason to get to hit some one round after round and not get into trouble for it

I’m not fighting to prove I’m better than anyone else. I’m fighting to prove to myself what I’m capable of.

I want to push myself out of my comfort zone, test my discipline, and show that hard work, dedication and mental strength can take you a long way. Boxing is about more than just throwing punches — it’s about respect, sacrifice, confidence and having the courage to face something that many others wont

I know it won’t be easy, but that’s the point. I’m doing this to challenge myself, make the people around me proud, and become a stronger version of myself, both inside and outside the ring. Come fight night, I’ll know I’ve put the work in, and I’ll give it everything I’ve got. 🥊

If I didn’t box, I’d probably be a lazy slob, sat on the sofa eating absolute crap, getting fat and convincing myself that walking to the fridge counts as exercise. 😂

Boxing keeps me fit, keeps my head straight, gives me discipline and gives me something to work towards. It pushes me when I can’t be bothered and reminds me that nothing comes easy.

And for some weird, unexplainable reason, I actually enjoy getting punched in the face! 🤣 There must be something seriously wrong with me, but there’s nothing quite like stepping into that ring, testing yourself and seeing what you’re made of.

Jay is speaking openly about his diagnosis because he wants to encourage other men to take their health seriously.
