🚨 Victory for the young mints. An incredibly hard fought clean sheet at The Mill gave the young mints a vital three points in their opening league game.

The goal was a well taken finish from Shaw, who looks to have started the season in the same form he finished the last one.

The man of the match was awarded to Mallinder, who was sublime at right back and played a delightful ball that led to the goal. Although all of the back four easily could have been in contention, along side the Dick of the Day winner Ollie Matthews, who, despite a sublime performance, missed one of the easiest chance we’ll get all season.

The only negative was that we didn’t score more - Brion and Shaw both having one on ones well saved, Matthews putting a header wide from almost on the line, and Collins having a header cleared off the line.

But most importantly, this was a great start to the season. With plenty of tough challenges still to come. No game next weekend as it’s Boardmasters weekend, but we travel to Foxhole on August 11th.

🚨 It is match day! And our young peppermints make their team debut at Step 7 with one of their toughest challenges of the season. They make the long trip down to the Mill where they face a Torpoint reserves side that finished third last season.

🚨 We begin our league campaign in the same way we did last season - with a difficult trip to The Mill where we face one of the title favourites Torpoint Reserves. It will be the first time in the club’s history that the second team appear in Step 7.

🚨 Amazing performance at Bickland Park.
Coming from 2-0 down, the young mints showed character and quality to overturn Peninsula League side Falmouth Town Seconds.
Every player was excellent, but there were standout performances from Collins, Marney, Mallinder, Evans, Britcliffe and man of the match Brion.
We now prepare for our first league game on Saturday away at Torpoint Reserves.

It’s game day as we make the trip down to Bickland Park for a really tough test. We take on Jon Perrow’s Falmouth Town Reserves who come off the back of an excellent debut season in the Peninsula League.

Next up! We make the journey to Peninsula high-flyers Falmouth Town reserves on Wednesday. We look forward to tough competition at Bickland Park where we face a fantastic young side with an excellent manager.

Stand out performances from Mallinder and Eguaoje as well as man of the match Marney saw us to victory.
