🍃 A Different Kind of Day Out... 🍃
What if you spent a whole day with no pressure, no rushing, and no need to be good at anything?
On Saturday 11th July, we're teaming up with Wild Wanderers to create a day that is all about slowing down, getting outdoors, and reconnecting with yourself.
This isn't a yoga retreat for "yoga people."
You don't need to be flexible.
You don't need to own yoga leggings.
You don't need any experience at all.
In fact, if you've ever said:
✨ "I'd love to switch off for a day."
✨ "I spend too much time indoors."
✨ "I need a break from screens."
✨ "I wish I could relax but don't know how."
..then this day is designed for you.
Throughout the day we'll enjoy:
🌿 Gentle, beginner-friendly yoga (with plenty of options)
🌿 Woodland walks and nature connection
🌿 Hammocks and quiet relaxation time
🌿 Stream paddling
🌿 Wholesome food and refreshments
🌿 Mindful activities and simple outdoor skills
🌿 Time to breathe, rest and simply be
No fitness level required.
No previous experience needed.
No expectations.
Just a beautiful day spent outdoors with lovely people, returning home feeling calmer, lighter and more refreshed than when you arrived.
📅 Saturday 11th July
⏰ 9am - 5pm
📍 Near Towcester
💷 £125 including activities, refreshments and lunch
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your wellbeing isn't another thing on your to-do list.
It's stepping away from the list altogether.
If that sounds like exactly what you need right now, we'd love to welcome you.

This retreat isn’t just about having a lovely day outdoors.
It has been designed to support your whole body.
The grounding yoga, barefoot sensory pathways, stream paddling, campfire time, nourishing food and deep rest all work together to help your nervous system settle, your body soften and your mind finally step out of “go mode”.
You’ll move gently, breathe more deeply, spend time in natural light, use your senses, rest properly and reconnect with simple things that many of us rarely make time for.
A full day to support your body, calm your mind and remind yourself what it feels like to properly slow down.

A little note as we move into our first week of this new chapter...
We'll still be open for coffee, cake and a friendly hello while we make the transition, so please bear with us if things look a little different over the next few days. ☕🍰
As many of you know, yoga teaches us to move with change rather than resist it, and that's exactly what we're doing this week. There may be a few adjustments, a few things moved around, and perhaps the odd moment where we're figuring things out as we go, but we're trusting the process and finding our new rhythm.
A special mention has to go to my Dad, John, who will be moving the coffee machine and helping with all the changes on Wednesday. Over the years he has turned his hand to just about everything at The Roade House — pot wash, maintenance man, decorator, gardener, delivery driver, mechanic, problem solver and general fixer of all things! Whatever needed doing, Dad has always quietly got on with it.
And don't be surprised if you still spot him serving coffee from time to time too. 😊
By next week we hope to have everything settled into a smoother routine, but for now we're embracing a little flexibility, a little patience and a lot of gratitude.
Thank you for supporting us through another change and for being part of our journey.

Today is our final day as a full café.
As we close this chapter, we just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last seven years. Whether you joined us for breakfast, coffee, cake, lunch, a catch-up with friends, or simply popped in for a quick takeaway, you've helped make The Roade House what it is today.
A special thank you goes to our wonderful team. Steve, Michelle, my dad and Darcie have all played a huge part in creating the friendly atmosphere that so many of you have enjoyed over the years, and we're incredibly grateful for everything they have done.
The good news is that this isn't goodbye. You'll still be able to enjoy our coffees, cakes and sweet treats from our pop-up coffee area whenever the yoga studio is open, and we're looking forward to adding our new cake shed outside in the near future too.
My dad will still be around and he will remain our maintenance man and he also may even be serving you a coffee! Michelle will still be around, albeit working from home and Steve isn't disappearing either! He'll be focusing more of his time on his valeting business here in Roade. If you'd like to support his next adventure, you can find him here:

The hotel, yoga studio, retreats, wellness events and breakfasts for our hotel guests all continue as normal, and we're excited to focus even more energy on those areas going forward.
Thank you for every coffee, every conversation, every recommendation and every visit.
We look forward to seeing you again soon for a coffee, a slice of cake, a yoga class, or simply to say hello.
With love and gratitude,
Maxine, Paul and The Roade House Team ❤️

Many of you who have visited us over the last week will already have heard that we are making some changes at The Roade House.
After a lot of thought, we have made the difficult decision to close the café as a full-time operation.
The simple truth is that it is no longer viable for us to sustain the staffing required to keep the café open in the way it deserves.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us, whether you've popped in for a coffee, enjoyed breakfast, met friends here, or simply made us part of your day.
This isn't goodbye completely though.
Coffee, cake and a small seating area will still be available whenever the yoga studio is open.
Most mornings we have classes running between 9am and 11am, some afternoons and weekend mornings, so you'll still be able to enjoy your favourite coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, matcha drinks and homemade treats.
We also have outdoor seating available for those sunny mornings.
Our rooms, yoga classes, retreats, wellness events and sauna sessions will all continue as normal and remain a big part of what we do here.
As one chapter closes, we're excited to focus more of our time and energy on helping people rest, move, stay and reconnect.
We would also be interested in hearing from anyone who may be looking for a café or catering space, as we are open to discussions regarding the hire or lease of the café and kitchen area.
Thank you for being part of our journey so far. Your support, kindness and encouragement have meant more than you know.
Maxine, Paul and The Roade House Team ❤️
