Our RYA Junior Start Sailing Course (Stage 1) is the perfect introduction for children aged 8+ who have never sailed before.

20th & 21st August 2026 – Hollowell Sailing Club

Over two fun-filled days, children will learn the basics of sailing in a safe, friendly environment with qualified RYA instructors.

An RYA accredited First Aid course run on Wednesday 8th July 2026.

Ideal for those who require a first aid certificate for their Instructing or a yachtmaster qualification, but open to all. It never hurts to have some basic First Aid training.

The price includes the latest RYA first aid manual and applies to non-members. Members who are interested please contact Jenny Sturt to discuss a discount. There will be another course in Feb 2027 which will be free to instructors and coaches who volunteer at the club.

Looking for something fun, active, and a little different to enjoy with family or friends? Come and experience the magic of sailing at our FREE Discover Sailing Open Day & Taster Sessions!

Whether you’re 8 or 88, complete beginner or just curious, this is your chance to get out on the water and try something new in a safe, welcoming environment.

You’ll head out on the water in our stable, family-friendly boats—perfect for sharing the experience together. We provide buoyancy aids, so just bring warm layers and suitable footwear, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Our team will be there throughout the day to guide you, answer questions, and help you explore what sailing at Hollowell is all about. You’re also welcome to stay, relax, and enjoy a drink or snack while soaking up the atmosphere by the water.
