Richard Ward. The Lions’ No.11. A legend of English futsal.

🦁🦁🦁

After six years away from international futsal and an achilles injury which kept him out of action last season, it was a special moment to see our iconic pivot finally collect his Silver, 50th international cap after the Northern Ireland game, celebrating an England career which started in 2014 against Montenegro and has now seen the 34-year-old represent his country 67 times, scoring 30 goals.

A lesson in resilience, perseverance and dedication.

Not the outcome or results he or the group wanted last week, but a return to the international side with four goals in three games and three magnificent performances deserves celebration.

It’s great to have you back, Wardy ❤️🦁

As the dust settles on International Futsal Week, we want to give an enormous thank you to every single fan who bought a ticket, travelled to Loughborough and brought the energy all week long, helping us to create a special atmosphere for our Lions and Lionesses. Despite mixed emotions on court, you were all part of history as we delivered 8 international futsal games in 4 days.

We are immensely grateful to every single one of you.

A shout out too, to the travelling fans from Swiss Futsal by SFV | ASF Sweden National Team Futsal & NI Futsal Federation for being an important part of the atmosphere and celebrating in good spirit 😉
