Our newsletter went out this morning to all our members and subscribers and was packed with lot's of dance news because Swing Dance Summertown returns tonight for week 2 of our structured Lindy Hop & Charleston Dance course.

Join Anna & Rob for another great set of classes including our Beginner's which starts at the slightly later time this evening of 7:40pm.

Every year at this time of year there is a school event that takes place early in the evening and goes on until about 7:00pm. This Wednesday (16th September 2026) is that evening.

When it is finished their team need to clear everything away which means we more than likely wont be ready to start on Wednesday 16th September at 7:30pm.

Their best estimate is that we can get in for around 7:40pm but we may not start until a bit after that. In the great scheme of things this is only 5 - 10 minutes and we can juggle the timings to make sure everyone gets their class time in.

If anyone does arrive early, please stay out of sight in the cafeteria (where the tea and coffee is) until the presentation finishes. Most importantly we should not interrupt or disturb the presentation. It is a really important night for the school and we want to be as supportive as possible.

You can access the cafeteria along the corridor which goes round to the right and around the hall, instead of going into the hall as normal.

Many hands will make light work. If anyone is able to get there early and lend a hand getting things cleared away that would be appreciated. It means we can start as soon as possible.

Next week we will be back to normal timing so don't forget to come along at normal time next week.

Secondly if everyone who would normally come at 7:30pm please delay your arrival by a few minutes to give everyone a chance to get the chairs put away and then for us to get set up.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our first class of the brand new term on Wednesday night. It was wonderful in the BEginner's Class to see all the new dancers taking their first steps on their Swing Dance Journey.
We run classes every week until the Festive season starts, and we hope you will join us for as much of it as possible.
We also welcomed back dancers we haven't seen a while (you know who you are 😀) and that really did make our night as you have been much missed.
The dancing continues this weekend on Sunday 13th September from 3pm - 6pm .

Swing Dance Summertown is back from Summer break and our brand new term of Swing Dance Lindy Hop classes starts TONIGHT!
Wednesday 9th September 2026

Do you live in or can you get to Oxford? Swing Dance Summertown is back in just a few weeks time with our new Term of Dance Classes.
