From the Managers' Desk -
the first in what will be a series of updates from Jason as the new season approaches.
This evening , we are delighted to confirm that, having committed to a new contract, our Team Captain , Aaron Whitehead , will be granted a Testimonial during this coming season.
He has been a great servant to the Club over a number of years and deserves this accolade.
I asked Aaron to outline his Swifts career - and it goes back even further than some would beleive.
He recalls signing in 2008 - as a fresh faced 17 year old, who couldn't go to the pub post-match, then leaving for a spell in 2015. Back he came, from Elgin City , in 2018 so by my reckoning this is a 9th consecutive season and around 14 years altogether.
Over the years , he has played with many top quality Swifts players - name-checking Chris McLeish, Ross Gunnion ( as a player and manager), Gavin Anderson, Stevie McManus , Robbie Holden, Tony Holt, Stevie McAllister , Mark Mitchell and John Anderson amongst countless others.
Manager Jason says:
"Aaron has been an outstanding servant to the Club, and is a natural leader and wants success for the Swifts. All his qualities and attributes are everything you want from a Captain. I am looking forward to building a good relationship with him and to bringing success to the club"
Aaron responded:
" I am delighted to have signed for Jeanfield for another year, and to lead the team as Captain once again. I am looking forward to working closely with Jason to hopefully bring the success that this team deserves.
Jason has come in and it's clear to see the style of football he wants us to play . His energy and hunger to succeed is fantastic to see. I have no doubt that , along with Scotty and Doddsy, he will bring a fresh drive and determination to succeed. Having spoken to a number of the players , there is a real sense of excitement about the new season. This is a Club that deserves success and I am determined to help deliver that. With the players, management and committee that we have in place, I am confident that we can achieve something special together."

CUP FEVER!
No, not the wee tourney going on in the US of A soon , but much, much closer to home.
This Friday evening sees the all- conquering Jeanfield Swifts Amateurs play their final match of a great season , when they face St Johns in the Perthshire Cup Final at Tulloch Park.
A win will complete a League, League Cup and Perthshire Cup treble. Friday will be the teams' 11th Final in 2 seasons - ALL the cups that they entered - with 9 wins recorded.
Team manager is Mark Allison , assisted by Chris Matthews.
Top scorer this season , Jack Jardine, has 39 goals to his name and would love to hit the 40 mark ...........
The Final will also mark the end of an illustrious Amateur career for Ali Abboud , after playing at this level for "years" ( no doubt the Years will increase with every telling in the dressing room!), and he is on 30 goals for this season.
The match kicks-off at 7pm and will be played to a finish .
Weather forecast is a braw 16-17 degrees, only £3 to get in ( £1 for us auld yins, and youngsters) - *Cash Only on the gate* - so lets see a great crowd gathering to roar the boys on to another Cup success.
