Horden OPHELIAS-
Words from the coach!
Really big well done tonight girls 👏
That was a very tough game against a very physical side.
Im proud of every single performance tonight, there were spells in the game where we outplayed them with some unbelievable pass and move phases.
We were always looking to play football the correct way so well done to you all and as long as we keep doing what we're doing we will be more than fine going forward.
Players of the game today go to Libby and Sophia 🏆
Absolutely fantastic performances from you both tonight and throughly deserved 👏👏

Match report - OPHELIAS
Horden Ophelias vs Hetton Junior Lionesses
Today marked the final day of spring cup action for our Ophelias.
The game started well for the Ophelias with bundles of energy across midfield, creating chances but unable to find the target.
15 minutes in and Hetton broke down the left, the ball was played across the edge of the box and fired in to the far top corner.
The goal didnt faze the girls as they battled on.
Chances come and gone from the Ophelias as they played some fantastic football.
Second half.
Due to the big turnout once again I was able to change the full team for the second half.
The intensity stayed the same and the Ophelias maintained their dominance.
Again, some great pass and move plays from the Ophelias but still unable to find the back of the net.
Throughout the second half just like the first the Ophelias dominated the game. The way the girls have progressed this season is outstanding to see and they all should be very proud of themselves.
Congrats for a fantastic season and keep up the hard work on and off the field 👏

Match Report - ELECTRAS
Today the Electras went to Washington on a miserable Saturday afternoon to take on a very good Brandon side.
Electras were quickest out the blocks, winning every second ball, every 1v1, and just dominant.
Our high press paid off as Eva opened the scoring after her shot was half saved and keeper couldn't get enough on it to keep it out.⚽️
The electras continued with the high press but eventually seen brandon break down the right hand side have a shot that hit the bar and there players reacted quickest to tap it home.⚽️
This didn't affect the girls as they scored pretty much straight from kick off, playing some good passing once we lost the ball the press from Olivia, Mado and Eva resulted us winning the ball back firing a cross along the box for their defender to turn home. ⚽️
We kept this momentum up throughout the first half which seen us win a kick in halfway inside the opposition half. Eva crossed the ball into the back post for Olivia to tap home with a good finish.⚽️
Half time came and the message from Kris was clear. Keep the same work rate up and we don't lose.
Which is exactly what happened.
Brandon came out firing, but we kept them out with some good defensive work from Sophia Ballard and Shortie Mukiele who were like brick walls.
Electras had the chance to add another after Eva's run down the kept was well crossed into the box but Mado got the ball stuck under her feet. She managed to fight and win the ball back and a quick turn and snapshot was stopped by the Brandon keeper.
Brandon did manage to get in behind towards the end of the game through on goal 1 on 1 they looked destined to pull one back but for the shoulder of Darcy Roefs.
The girls manage to see out the rest of the game for another win in our hunt for the spring cup.
