Last night the Green Army U8s travelled to Grayfields for a friendly vs FC Hartlepool Bears.

We have played this team before in a very competitive encounter with some brilliant performances on display - this match ended in an 8-8 goal fest so we were looking forward to a good run out last night.

The match did not disappoint with both teams going at it non stop for 45 minutes in very warm conditions! Goals galore, some brilliant keeper performances, tackles flying in and all round top class football from both teams.

It ended 7-7 in a very tight game and a great watch for the spectators, followed by a fun penalty shoot out to round off the night.
Thanks to the Bears for hosting us and good luck for the coming season.

Really proud of our lads once again - they are absolutely smashing their pre season work.

It was a mini Wear/Tyne derby today as the Green Army headed to Blakelaw, giving our brand new Red & White Away Kits their first run out!

The opponent was Newcastle City Juniors Juve, for the second week running we’ve played a team sitting two divisions above us to make sure our pre season work is really stretching the lads!

And for the second week in a row we came out on top, clinching a 3-1 win in a brilliant game. We played for 60 minutes so both teams got a great run out, the game was played in great spirits with both teams showing what they could do.

A quality opponent and a great game for the spectator, the Green Army lads really showed the best of themselves and came away with a well deserved result.
