🍺🇩🇪 IT’S OFFICIAL… OKTOBERFEST IS COMING TO THE PARKWAY! 🇩🇪🍺

Rugby. Fancy dress. Oktoberfest. Sarries. What could possibly go wrong? 👀
📅 Saturday 17th October
📍 The Parkway Sports & Social Club
🍻 Open from 12pm

We’ve got a full day lined up at The Parkway, and we want players, families, old boys, supporters and friends of the club to come along and be part of it!

🏉 FIRST UP — THE RUGBY!
Get down and back the boys as the Sarries take on Plymouth Argaum in another big league fixture on home soil.
Our pitch. Our clubhouse. Our people. 🔴⚫🟢
Then once the final whistle goes, it’s time to swap the rugby shirts for the lederhosen as Sarries Oktoberfest takes over The Parkway! 🍺🇩🇪

🎭 Put on your best fancy dress
🍺 Enjoy the Oktoberfest atmosphere
🎶 Music and an evening of fun
😂 Plenty of laughs
🏉 A full day of rugby
🍻 And probably more than a few PROSTS!

We’ve talked a lot about making Tamar Saracens a proper family and community rugby club, and days like this are exactly what it’s all about. Rugby brings us together on the pitch, but the club is about so much more than those 80 minutes.

So get down early, back the boys, stick around afterwards and enjoy a big Saturday at The Parkway.

❤️🖤💚 ONE CLUB. ONE COMMUNITY. SUPER SARRIES.

Saturday 17th October — get it in the diary! 🍺🇩🇪

🏉 GAMEWEEK THREE | BACK AT THE PARKWAY 🔴⚫🟢

There’s no place like home.

After a tough trip to Salcombe last weekend, the Sarries return to The Parkway this Saturday as we welcome Torquay RFC 2s for Gameweek Three.
Last Saturday was a tale of two halves. The first was one we’ll want to forget, but the response after the break showed the fight, character and togetherness that this group has in abundance.
We came away disappointed. Now it’s about the response.
And what better place to respond than on our own patch, in front of our own people. 🔥
The Parkway has to become a place teams don’t enjoy visiting. We started our home campaign in emphatic fashion, and now we have another opportunity to use that home advantage, feed off the support from the touchline and get ourselves straight back on track.
But Saturday starts with the work we put in during the week.

🏋️ TRAINING
📅 Tuesday & Thursday
⏰ 7:00pm
📍 The Parkway

Two sessions to work hard, put right what needs putting right and compete for a place in Saturday’s 20. Nobody owns a shirt — places are earned.
Then we go again...

🏉 TAMAR SARACENS vs TORQUAY RFC 2s
📅 Saturday 10th October
⏰ 3:00pm Kick Off
📍 Parkway Sports & Social Club, Ernesettle Lane

We had fantastic support for our opening home fixture and we need you again this weekend. Get down early, bring the family, grab a drink and make some noise for the lads.
Our pitch. Our clubhouse. Our people. Our home. ❤️🖤💚

Time to get back to work.
Time to use home advantage.
Time to bounce back. 🔥

SARRIES WENT FISHING BUT WERE CAUGHT IN THEIR OWN NET

A tale of two halves at Two Meads — and the first was certainly one to forget.
A hard, physical encounter against Salcombe that had a bit of everything — injuries, cards, big collisions and plenty of frustration.

But the lads regrouped at half-time, showed character and fought their way back into the contest with a much-improved second-half performance.

Ultimately, we fell just short, 22–19, and leave disappointed knowing we made life difficult for ourselves.
No excuses and no dwelling on it. We learn, we dust ourselves off and we go again. 🔴⚫🟢

🏉 BACK TO WORK THIS WEEK

⏰ 7:00pm

Then it's back home next Saturday as we welcome Torquay 2s to The Parkway.
One result doesn't define us. How we respond does.

🔥 GAME DAY I TIME TO GO FISHING 🦀🔥

It’s Game Day and today we make the trip up to Two Meads to take on Salcombe RFC in our second league game of the season.
Last weekend gave us the perfect start with a huge 77–0 victory over Plympton Victoria, but that result is now behind us.
Different week. Different challenge. Same standards.
Salcombe on their own patch will provide a completely different test, and our 20-man squad travels knowing there is still plenty of work to do.

🔥 THREE SARRIES DEBUTS
A big day for Matt Roberts, Lewis Stuart and Liam Bowyer, who are all set to make their first league appearances in Sarries colours.
Three very different players, three great additions to the squad and another sign of the strength and depth we're continuing to build at the club.
Go well, lads — enjoy every minute of it. 👊

💣 20 PLAYERS. READY TO GO.
The side is packed with experience alongside some fresh faces, with Adam Coutts captaining the squad and Jacob Blasdale vice-captain.
Every player has a job to do. Whether starting or coming from the bench, it’s about putting the club first and delivering for the badge.

🔴⚫🟢 NEW SIGNING | LEWIS STUART 🔴⚫🟢

The best worst-kept secret in Plymouth rugby is finally out… 👀
Now the team sheet has done the announcing for us, we can officially welcome Lewis Stuart to Tamar Saracens RFC!
And this one is a serious addition to the Sarries backline.
Lewis has played rugby since the age of 10, coming through at Saltash RFC before going on to represent Infantry Rugby League and Cornwall Rugby League.

His rugby has even taken him to the other side of the world, spending a season in Australia with the Byron Shire Rebels. 🇦🇺
There was also a stint closer to home playing Rugby League with Plymouth Titans, where he first crossed paths with a few of the Sarries lads. Clearly they made a decent enough impression because, a few years later, we've finally managed to get him into the red, black and green! 😂

Starting life on the wing, Lewis eventually realised standing around waiting for the ball wasn't for him and worked his way progressively closer to it — moving to 9, then 10, and developing into a genuine utility back capable of playing across the backline.
These days scrum-half and fly-half are his main positions, bringing plenty of experience, rugby intelligence and quality to an already exciting Sarries backline.

And why Sarries?
Simple really…
Local rugby. Social rugby. Good people. 🍻🏉
Don't let the baby-faced good looks fool you either. Once he crosses that white line, the bloke is an absolute animal.
Physical, competitive, deceptively powerful and a seriously talented rugby player — exactly the sort of player you want alongside you and absolutely not the sort you want running at you.

And we're delighted to announce that Lewis has been kindly sponsored by Sarries legend John Bentley. ❤️🖤💚
A massive thank you to John for once again getting behind the club and supporting one of our players. Having former players and club legends continuing to back the next generation is exactly what Tamar Saracens is all about.
Lewis has already made the teamsheet,so unfortunately the dramatic "who could it possibly be?" reveal has been completely ruined… 😂
But we're absolutely buzzing to finally make it official.

Welcome to the Sarries, Lewis!

BACK TO IT 💪🏉

After a huge start to the league campaign, it’s straight back to work tonight as attention turns to Saturday’s trip to Salcombe RFC.
Last weekend is done. New week. New challenge.
Numbers have been excellent, competition for shirts is growing and the standard keeps rising. Get down, train hard and give the coaches another selection headache ahead of Thursday night.

👀 DID YOU KNOW? | BROTHERS ON THE FIELD 🔴⚫🟢

Saturday’s opening league fixture was a special one for the Sarries for more reasons than just the result…

Tamar Saracens fielded THREE sets of brothers in the same matchday squad! 👊
🏉 Adam & Craig Coutts
🏉 Jacob & Isaac Blasdale
🏉 Lewis & Harvey Tucker
Six players. Three families. One Sarries shirt. ❤️

And it could have been even more…
Had Blake Smith been fighting fit, we would have had an incredible FOUR sets of brothers taking to the field, with Blake joining Chad Smith to form the formidable Balk Bros! 💪

One of the things we’ve really wanted to build at Tamar Saracens is a genuine family club — somewhere players, partners, children, parents, old boys and supporters all feel part of what we’re creating.

We’re incredibly lucky to have some seriously talented families within our club, and seeing brothers pulling on the shirt together is a brilliant example of what Sarries is all about.
Different families. Different generations. One club.

And with four sets of brothers potentially available to us this season, there could be plenty more family combinations taking to the field together! 👀

🔴⚫🟢 FAMILY. CLUB. SARRIES.

🏉 GAMEWEEK TWO | ON THE ROAD 🔴⚫🟢

After opening our league campaign with a 77–0 victory at The Parkway, attention quickly turns to the next challenge.

This Saturday the Sarries hit the road for the first time this season as we make the short trip up to Salcombe RFC.
Saturday, gave us a great platform, but it's exactly that — a platform. The standards now have to rise again.
Salcombe away is always a tough test and we know we'll need another big performance if we're going to come home with the result we want.

📅 Saturday 3rd October

🏉 BACK TO WORK THIS WEEK 🔴⚫🟢

What a way to start the league campaign!

A 77–0 victory over Plympton Victoria at The Parkway gives the Sarries the perfect platform to build from — but one result is exactly that, one result.
The lads produced a dominant performance, particularly at set-piece, and went into half-time 41–0 ahead.

First-half tries:
Dane Waryck ×2, Adam Coutts, Harvey Tucker, Isaac Blasdale, Rikki Lennon and Jacob Blasdale, with Rob Hall adding four conversions.
The second half saw us continue to push, with Chad Smith and Robbie Fowler both crossing twice, while Lewis Tucker and Lloyd Williams-Notley also got themselves on the scoresheet.

Head Coach Pete Lethbridge summed it up perfectly when speaking to the Plymouth Sports Gazette:
“It’s a good platform now for the rest of the season. We can only build on that.”
And huge credit must go to Plympton Victoria, who kept going for the full 80 minutes and never gave up.

But Saturday is done. Now the attention turns to the next challenge.
This week we're BACK TO TRAINING and preparing for our first away trip of the league season as we head to Salcombe RFC. 🌊🏉

Different week. Different challenge. And there is plenty still to work on.
Numbers at training need to stay high, standards need to keep rising and competition for those shirts starts all over again.

Training :Tuesday & Thursday
