Well done to the 18U boys who competed today in the 18U singles competition. Eddie won through in his semi -final after a close second set against Matthew. Henry lost his semi-final against Nathanael, but Henry played some of his best tennis against an older opponent. Nathanael went on to beat a Eddie in a hard-hitting final. Both players made some fantastic shots and it was a fitting finale. Nathanael won the Haigh Shield for the second year running.
Matthew took third place beating Henry in the 3rd/4th play-off.
Thank you to all of the parents for supporting their players. The matches were played in a good competitive spirit and all the players should be proud of themselves.
The girls'18U competition also had a rain-delayed 3rd/4th playoff. Paige won 3rd place after a thrilling closely fought match that went to a 10 point tie-break which she won 10-8! It was good to see such a friendly and competitive match. Devon TennisPlymouth LivePlympton Community CouncilActive DevonJunior Plymouth and District Tennis league

Some really good tennis today from players at the 18U Club tournament. Despite the rain the girls' managed to finish their matches. Catrina took the first set fairly easily from Isla, but Isla fought back to a deciding tie-break which Catrina won. Both girls showing excellent technique particularly on their backhand. Paige had a good match v Ynah pushing her to a tie-break decider in the second set. Ynah then played Catrina in the final. Both girls had some great hits but despite Catrina's good technique, Ynah's consistency won through. She won the trophy for the second year running. The first round of the boys' singles was marred by injury and Matthew R unfortunately had to concede the match. The remainder of the boys' matches will hopefully be played next Sunday.
