Our brilliant Plympton D team for gained full points against a competitive Menheniot B side. They are in strong contention to win Division 3 with one game left to play. Rory from Plympton was the player of the match, coming back from 1-4 down to take the first set 6-4. He went on to win the second 6-4 . Fantastic refreshments were provided by Menheniot who always give away teams a warm welcome.
Hill Lane C had a good win over Plympton E in Div 3. There were some "decent rallies" between the more novice players, Will and Josh and Isaac and Hugo. Our E side is improving all the time.
In Div 1, Plympton B were at home to Hill Lane B and lost in a competitive match, managing to deny Hill Lane full points through winning some sets in the doubles. Hill Lane were strong in the singles play and played well to beat Plympton.
" Some Wimbledon-worthy points" was the quote by the Newton and Noss team coach, Laura. Some great tennis and sporting behaviour from our tennis players this week. Good to see Newton and Noss team pictured here in their game v Plympton C which ended in a win for the home team of Newton and Noss.

Large racquets – we can’t miss! Only way to improve our tennis! What a great day at Wimbledon on Saturday. We looked over the heads of some famous sports people in the Royal Box to watch some superb tennis. Defending champion, Iga Swiatek, was knocked out by Alexandra Eala. (3 years ago, when she graduated from Nadal’s Tennis Academy, it was Iga that presented her with her certificate!) Also, what a dramatic 5 setter between Dmitrov and Berrettini. Finishing at 10pm under the roof on an incredible noisy court. J&P. Tennis

Well done to our brilliant junior players. Our A team have secured their place as winners of Div 1 in the P&D Junior League. They beat our B team in the home derby. All of the A team players play for Men's teams now and have boosted the ongoing success of these teams. Our Junior D team are in contention to win Div 3. They played in a second home derby v our E team last Sunday. There was an epic singles match between Stan and Rory with Stan eventually having the consistency to win - but great play from both. Hopefully this is a team to watch out for in the future. Devon TennisThe Plympton PodcastPlympton Community CouncilActive DevonPlympton Tennis Club - PLTCKeep It Local - Plympton

Eddie and Henry played well at at the Devon and Cornwall regional Play your Way to Wimbledon event. They took on the challenge of playing on grass at the Avon Vale Tennis & Croquet Club Devon Eddie was placed fourth after a narrow defeat in a semi-final tie-break against the eventual winner. Henry won one of his matches and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you to everyone involved. We are proud of their achievement. Devon TennisThe Plympton PodcastActive Devon

What a close match! Plympton A ladies, currently top of Div 2 unfortunately just lost out to Mannamead B 43 points to 46. Good performances and a great fight-back from both Plympton pairs in the second rubber didn't quite gain them enough points. Great atmosphere post match! Wet, wet, wet! Story of some of our matches recently. Plympton B and Menheniot B competed well under difficult conditions. Menheniot won 47-43 in a very tight match.

A good win today for Plympton A Juniors over Hill Lane A giving them the maximum points. Plympton D had a great tennis match at home v Tavistock B with a close score but a narrow defeat. Plympton C lost to Tavistock A but won two sets and had some close matches. Well done everyone! Our B and E teams had no matches today. Weather was great and all parents very supportive. Three wins out of 4 matches for Plympton Juniors today! Particularly well done to our D team who held on to a close lead v Hill Lane C. The teams and their supporters seen here outside the clubhouse - and yes they were eating doughnuts at half time!
Our E team gained a surprising, ( sorry team), win v Tavistock B who are currently leading Div 3. Good performances came from Rory and Leo in the singles backed up by Josh in the doubles.
Last but not least our A team put up a strong game against Hill Lane B and gained a convincing win. Unfortunately our C team lost to Mannamead, but denied them full points with Leah coming back and winning her second set. Our B team didn't have a match.
