June is here! Summer is nearly here! This is a great time to get out for a run with a group of friendly people who care about whether you HAVE a good time as well as GET a good time.
Our focus at Carleton Running Community has always been about being able to run happily, to be able to have a chat and talk to others as well as training and coaching for events for those who want to do that as well.
Our experienced coaching team are here to help you, answer your questions, provide FREE training plans, support our runners whether they are going for a 20 minute 5k or a 50 minute 5k, whether they are hoping to 'just get round' or to push for new goals and targets.
You may be used to running on your own or with a friend, but are missing some structure, the social side to running, or just haven't found a group that meets your needs.
At CRC, we are here for you. Why not come along this week to Carleton Pontefract for one of our sessions? Meeting at The Carleton is useful as not only is it a gateway to lots of varied routes out towards town, but also into the countryside too. There are always people who like to stop and chat afterwards and get to know each other over a nice refreshing drink after their run.
We don't just like to run together, we like to have fun together too. So, maybe we will see you at The Carleton soon?

Wow, did you see the London Marathon this weekend? All those amazing people doing fantastic in their running, all different speeds and abilities, and all being supported and cheered on by everyone. It was great to see!
So did it inspire you to dust off your running shoes? Can we persuade you to come and have a little run with us? Have you been thinking about getting running again but not got round to it?
Well this week is where you can make a big step towards achieving your goals. Why not come along to Carleton Running Community at Carleton Pontefract and have a nice friendly social run with us this week?
We meet at The Carleton pub on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.50pm and run as a group at a conversational pace - some talk more than they run, and some run more than they talk, and some walk as much as they run - and we enjoy that variety and mixture!
Whether you’re looking for a group to run with or looking to find new running buddies, or just would value the structure a running community brings without the scary thought of a traditional serious running club.
Our membership is just £31 for the year and this brings you all our club activities and access to FREE coaching plans if you’re training for an event such as a 10k, half marathon, marathon or even further like an ultra marathon.
We have 2 coaches, 5 run leaders, and 3 assistant run leaders who are all dedicated to helping everyone have the best possible time. We want our runners to HAVE a good time as well as GET a good time!
So, maybe you’ll wander down to The Carleton pub this week and try us out? We hope to see you soon! 🏃🏃♂️⭐️

Lighter evenings, slightly warmer temperatures, looking ahead to holidays?
All good pointers for us to get out our running shoes. It may have been some time for some people, though that’s not a reason to put it off.
At Carleton Running Community based at Carleton Pontefract, we welcome runners of all levels of experience - from the super speedy runners to those who can just about breathe and still run, and those who like to chat all the way round!
Our sessions are designed for runners to go their pace and to be able to enjoy themselves at the same time. We are a friendly group who like to have fun as well as go for a run.
This is a running community rather than a running club - so we look out for each other, and do so out of friendship and consideration for all.
If you’re interested in coming along and trying us out, we would love to see you. We run from The Carleton pub on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.50pm, and you’re welcome to join us for a nice drink afterwards too if you’ve got time!
It doesn’t matter when the last time you put your running shoes on. It does matter when you next put them on! We hope to see you soon! 🏃♂️🏃⭐️

We are Carleton Running Community, a friendly running group based at The Carleton pub in Pontefract.
We aren't just a group of people who like running. We are a community who like to run together!
We aren't just a group of super speedy runners. We are a mixture of levels from those who fly round, to those who chat all the way, to those who are just glad to get round!
We aren't the kind of group who does our own sessions then disappears. We like to socialise together and to play our part in local community activities too.
We aren't a closed group. We are open and welcoming to anyone who wants to come and be a part of our happy group.
If you are free on Tuesdays / Thursdays then Carleton Pontefract is the place to come along to. We meet at 6.50pm until 8pm, and you won't be running on your own as we want everyone to enjoy themselves.
We are Carleton Running Community. We hope you'll come and run with us sometime soon! We'd love to meet you! ⭐️
