Us northerners are getting even more northern, with a trip to Edinburgh this October. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The Edinburgh Squash Open is being hosted at and will be open to players of all levels, so everyone is welcome.

Afterward we will be channelling that Oktoberfest energy, with plenty of food, drink and more after the games. 🍺🍺🍺🍺

We go for the Squash and stay for the fun! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

It’s a £50 entry and includes a free T-shirt and dinner on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd October, and if your team signs up before the end of July you will get 2 extra drinks vouchers per person!!! 👍👍👍👍

With the end of Summer League on the horizon, Thursday saw some exceptional squash in some scorching hot temperatures🥵🥵🥵🥵, and while our hardened northern players are accustomed to all weathers and temperatures, Haslingden were able to get the win over the Firsts. 👎👎👎👎

While it’s a tough loss, our Firsts have still done more than enough to maintain their place as second in their division, so it isn’t all bad. 😊😊😊😊

As for our Second team, they won a close game against Blackburn Northern, continuing their impressive winning streak which included beating current division leaders St Peters Burnley Squash Club a few weeks ago. 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Having been beaten by Burnley 4-1 last time we met, taking this 5-0 win was a great achievement for team Hoppers. 👏👏👏👏

With there only being 4 weeks and 4 matches left to play, we're looking forward to a good result this season. 👍👍👍👍

The second month of the Summer League has been full on!!! 🎾🎾🎾🎾

But we’re happy to report that we are at 2nd place within our division with 3 wins and only one loss in the last few weeks. 🤩🤩🤩🤩

It has also been great to see some of our injured players like Simon back on court and back to full strength for league games. 💪💪💪💪

The work we’re putting in has certainly been paying off, and with only a month to go you can bet we will be aiming for the divisions top spot! 🥇🥇🥇🥇

We are looking to add more competitive Squash players to our ranks for our upcoming Winter League season. 🎾🎾🎾🎾

Our teams are based across divisions 2, 3 and 4 and matches take place on Thursdays, so if you are a competitive player itching for some good competition, then give us a shout on our socials!!! 📣📣📣📣

We also offer more relaxed matches, with training nights on Tuesdays and casual club nights on Wednesdays and Saturdays as well.

Preston Grasshoppers Hopfest 2026 is coming!!! 🎆🎆🎆🎆

That’s right, annual Beer and Gin Festival, Hopfest, is back on the Friday 10th and Saturday 11th of July and it offers a great venue to spend time with family and friends, providing the sociable and fun atmosphere that's synonymous with this annual event. 🤩🥳🤩🥳

There will be 30 beers on tap to choose from, 10 ciders, plus a selection of gins along with entertainment provided by on the Friday and on the Saturday. 🍺🍺🍺🍺

There will also be food vendors,🍕🍕🍕🍕 and a touch Rugby tournament 🏉🏉🏉🏉 so there really is something for everyone!

Tickets are £10 for Friday the 10th and £12 for Saturday the 11th.

Good showing from last week who we played as part of our new 26-27 Summer League Season, which has been off to a wonderful start. 👏👏👏👏

Summer League has always had the highest-level of players in terms of regional squash in the North, and last years Summer League was tricky for Hoppers, finishing in the bottom half of the table. 😭😭😭😭

But this time we’ve have been showing how much our skills have improved, winning 3 of our 4 games in the first month of competition. 🤩🤩🤩🤩

We are energised and back at it so lets go get the wins!!! 🎾🎾🎾🎾

Yes, the Northwest Counties Squash Winter League 2025 to 2026 has finally come to an end and what a ride it has been, so thank you so much to everyone who played. 👏👏👏👏

With most of our teams moving up in divisions from last year, the quality of opponent was upped significantly, so the beginning of the season was quite the rollercoaster. 😆😆😆😆

Though it took a while for our teams to adjust to the higher levels of opponent, we kept getting better and better, gradually building the victories. Now, through everyone’s efforts, Hoppers squash teams have finished the the season with respectable mid table rankings all round. 🙌🙌🙌🙌

So, well done and thank you to everyone who played and helped to organise the season. We couldn’t do anything without all the time and support you all put into Preston Grasshoppers Squash, so thank you. 👍👍👍👍

Thankfully we won’t have to wait too long before more competitive play with our Summer League starting later this month. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
