Great day yesterday and the 59th KUGB KUGB (Karate Union of Great Britain) National Championships in Nottingham!

The KUGB celebrated its 60th year, and significantly for our club, Sensei Mike Johnstone was awarded a certificate in recognition of his 50 Years membership of the KUGB!

Congratulations from everyone at the club, we are all very proud!

Our competitors on the day, Georgia, Izzy, Kathryn and Olly all performed well, with coaching from Sensei Daniel on the day, and we also had Sensei Mark on officiating duties.
Also, thanks to our parents and families for your support as well.

REMINDER - 🌟 KUGB Charity Week: 23rd-29th March 🌟

Throughout 2025 and 2026, the KUGB has been raising funds for Lupus UK. The charity supports individuals who have been affected by lupus, an autoimmune condition that affects the body's vital organs.

The KUGB will be holding a Charity Week from 23rd-29th March, during which we encourage all clubs to get involved with the charity appeal to help raise funds for Lupus UK, before the final total is announced at the National AGM in May.

How could your club get involved with the Charity Appeal?

πŸ₯‹ Sponsored events, such as challenges inside or outside the dojo

πŸ₯‹ Charity courses with senior instructors

πŸ₯‹ Donation boxes or buckets at your club

πŸ₯‹ Easter raffles

πŸ₯‹ Guess the name of the Karate bear/Easter bunny

πŸ₯‹ Donating the proceeds from the week's classes to the charity

You could also be creative and come up with your own ideas for fundraising!

We are excited to see our clubs come together and support a very worthwhile cause. For any questions about the Charity Appeal, or for the KUGB charity bank account details, please email [email protected] .

Individual donations can also be made via our JustGiving page:
https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kugb-lupus

Let’s all make a difference during our Charity Week and show what can be done when the KUGB community works together!

If you are planning on hosting an event - please email details to [email protected] for some extra promotion πŸ˜ƒ
