EVER FELT LIKE YOU JUST CAN’T GET THAT KATA OR COMBO RIGHT?
Ever felt like your arms and legs aren’t coordinating, you keep forgetting the next move, or those turns just won’t click? 😅
Whether you're a student or a parent supporting your child, remember that karate takes time, patience and practice. It's all part of the journey!
A few little things that can make a big difference when it comes to learning kata or Kihon;
🥋 Take it one step at a time. Break your kata or combo into smaller sections and build up.
🥋 Use your resources. Scan the QR code on your training pass to watch the Kata videos and practise at home.
🥋 Take ownership of your own journey. We work on our karate together in the dojo, but making time to practise outside of class is just as important. Even 5–10 minutes a day can help build muscle memory, improve coordination and boost confidence in your own abilities. Your instructors are here to guide you, but your progress also depends on the effort you put in between classes.
🥋 Be patient with yourself: Everyone learns at their own pace. Learn from the tricky moments and celebrate when you 'get it'.
Keep showing up for training, keep believing in yourself, and remember: your karate journey is yours to shape and we're here to support you every step of the way!
