Better conditioning, quicker recovery and improved health? Yes please!

It's fairly agreed upon that having good conditioning and being able to showcase your strength and power for longer is a handy trait to have.

However, how to do this is seemingly much less agreed upon. In the last couple of decades high intensity conditioning training has become the go-to, whilst lower intensity options were seen as less efficient.

The trouble with this is that, in reality, they offer different benefits that both go towards a good level of conditioning.

So, if you spend a lot of time doing high intensity training, trying this cardiac output style of training (courtesy of ) could be of huge benefit.

Even if you're primary activity isn't very aerobic, the health and recovery benefits of lower intensity conditioning can have a big boost on your performance.

Mindset is how you see yourself, your situation, and the world around you.

It can help you get fascinated by challenges, see failure as feedback and think of adversity as a bend in the road. It can keep you calm, positive and of the belief that you can keep improving.

It can also cause you to get frustrated by challenges, let failure define you and see adversity as the end of the road. It can cause you to panic, be anxious and negative and have you believe that "you are the way you are" and it can't be changed.

That's why it's incredibly important to foster a supportive mindset, so that you have your own little cheerleader in your head, and not your own worst enemy.

There are many great strategies, but being aware of the body language we are using, the things we are focused on and the things we are telling ourselves is a great place to start.

We get asked about motivation all the time! Especially around this time of year.

What should I do when I’m not feeling motivated?
Does not feeling motivated mean I don’t really want my goal?
Why do I feel unmotivated?
How do I stay motivated?

It feels great to wake up feeling pumped up and ready to attack your day! Often, however, that’s not the case. Our motivation levels go up and down like everything else and this is perfectly normal.

So this week we're going to take a look at what we can do to re-motivate ourselves and keep working towards the things we want. To start with let's take a deep dive on setting your goals and knowing your why!

Mobility class for anyone looking to improve the way their body moves and feels. Tuesdays at 12pm from October 11th.

Strength for Seniors class, great for anyone 50+ looking to get, or stay, more active. Wednesdays at 10.30am from this Wednesday!

Strength & Conditioning class for anyone who want's to improve the way their body performs. This could be for sport, active hobbies or just day to day life. Thursdays at 5.45pm from 13th October.

What a difference 10 min of mobility can make!

Everyone’s body is different, so trying to “achieve” or “compete” with our flexible counterparts may not be our best path.

Perhaps consider mobility as a way of tuning in to your body. 👂Listen to where it’s at today, move it gently & practice gratitude for what it does for us every day 🙏

Often that’s all it takes to make us feel good and confident in our bodies! 😊 (… and now we’re ready to try hard 😉🏋️‍♀️🧗‍♀️)

Hinge pattern, twist pattern, overhead tension, and a fair bit of shifting in centre of gravity! An exercise that not only builds strength in multiple patterns but also challenges movement skill, tests body awareness, and trains mental concentration! 😱
