Did you try an e-bike?
We had a fabulous day at the Wokingham Bikeathon on Sunday along side e-bike suppliers AW Cycles / Velospeed Electric Bikes and My Journey Wokingham
It was great to see so many people and we hope you had a chance to try out an e-bike and discuss the pros and cons to see whether one would fit into your life and help you travel more sustainably.
Wow what a fantastic time we had at the Wokingham Bikeathon last Sunday. 🚴🚴🚴
561 riders took part in the Bikeathon - a great number of people either riding the 15, 25 or 35 mile route. 🚴
There were plenty of activities taking place too with an electric bike event arranged by Wokingham Town Council and electric bikes provided by AW Cycles and Velospeed Electric Bikes.
Nuffield Health were also running warm-up sessions, Vanguard Cycles ran a Dr Bike service, Sprockets Cycle Club with their obstacle course, WATCH Wokingham with their active travel information and advice, Beyond First Aid, Wokingham Cycle Club, Wokingham Photography Club, Stewart Turkington Photographer, Pedalicious My Journey's smoothie maker and last but not least the Bluebell Box serving their delicious cakes and drinks.
Thank you to everyone who came along on the day to support the Bikeathon as well as Wokingham Bikeathon Committee for organising the event! 🙏

There was a lot of interest from all age groups at the e-bike event on Saturday.
We hope you enjoyed test riding the various models, learnt more about the bikes themselves or found a model that suited you.
Thanks to:
🚲 AW Cycles and Velospeed Electric Bikes for bringing their knowledge and some great bikes along for everyone to try. 👉e-bikes are a great way to increase activity, reduce our reliance on cars and reduce CO2 emissions. So if you are interested but couldn't make it to the event on Saturday, do get in touch with them.
WATCH community active travel group, Doctor Bike and Urban Limit bike challenge were also kept busy throughout the day.
Our partners My Journey Wokingham came armed with balance bikes for the little ones too.
Our Mayor and Mayoress took to the track. Tony looked very comfortable peddling around and took the corners well!
