What a fabulous day for Team Kyndi! Yesterday many of the Kyndi Team and their families and friends joined forces to enter the 2026 Dragon Boat Race organised by Medway Sunlight Rotary Club. This is the second year of entering and we were again blessed by glorious weather.
Thank you to everyone who helped organise the day and everyone who came along to row and support. A special mention to Megan who was our drummer! She did an amazing job in a precarious position!

Technology can’t solve workforce pressure on its own.
But it can help services work differently.
Across health and social care, teams are being asked to manage increasing demand with stretched resources, rising complexity and ongoing workforce challenges.
The conversation is often around “doing more with less”.
But perhaps the focus should be on doing things smarter.
When professionals have better visibility of changing needs, support can become more proactive rather than reactive.
Earlier insight can help:
• reduce unnecessary interventions
• prioritise resource more effectively
• support safer decision-making
• and improve outcomes for the individual
The right assistive technology should never replace human support.
It should strengthen it.
At Kyndi, we work with organisations to support more person-led, insight-driven approaches that help services respond earlier and plan more effectively.

Where is most risk actually sitting in your service?
It’s not always where we think.
We often focus on the obvious points:
• hospital admissions
• crisis interventions
• high-risk individuals
But in reality, risk often builds quietly in between.
Between visits.
Between reviews.
Between moments of direct contact.
Small changes that aren’t immediately visible:
A change in routine.
A missed medication.
Disrupted sleep.
Individually, they may not trigger concern.
But collectively, they can lead to escalation.
For many services, the challenge isn’t identifying risk.
It’s seeing it early enough to act.
That’s where a more proactive, insight-led approach is starting to shift the dial.
Using the right information to:
• identify patterns
• spot change sooner
• intervene before situations escalate
Because by the time risk is visible, it’s often already progressed.

Medway NHS has introduced new wireless X-ray technology at Medway Maritime Hospital, helping to speed up diagnostics, reduce delays, and improve patient flow.
You can read more here:
https://www.medway.nhs.uk/news/x-ray-machines-go-wireless-to-improve-patient-care/
Innovations like this are a step in the right direction for health and care.
Reducing delays, improving efficiency, and enabling faster decision-making all contribute to better patient outcomes and smoother pathways through the system.
But what happens after discharge is just as important.
At Kyndi, we see the impact of this first-hand. When technology is used well, it doesn’t just improve care in clinical settings it supports safer transitions home, reduces unnecessary readmissions, and helps people maintain their independence.
From hospital to home, connected systems and smarter use of technology are key to building a more responsive, sustainable care model.
Because better flow isn’t just about systems, it’s about people.
X-ray machines go wireless to improve patient care
Patients can now get a clinical decision and treatment faster thanks to mobile and theatre x-ray machines here at Medway being connected to our WiFi network which has been upgraded to improve reliability and reach.

Are we designing services around people… or around capacity?
In reality, most systems are built around resource.
Visit lengths.
Schedules.
Geography.
Workforce availability.
And while that’s understandable, it can sometimes mean support is shaped by what’s available, rather than what’s needed.
The result?
Reactive care.
Escalation that could have been prevented.
And increasing pressure across already stretched teams.
There’s a growing shift towards designing support differently.
Starting with the individual.
Understanding routines, behaviours and risk in context.
Then building support around that, not the other way around.
When this is combined with better visibility between visits, it allows professionals to:
• identify change earlier
• intervene more proportionately
• and reduce reliance on high-intensity support
It’s not about doing more.
It’s about doing things differently.
👉 How are you balancing capacity with truly person-led support in your service?
