We had so much fun on our Sunday Social last week that we've already put the next one in the diary!

Just three weeks to go until our Family Friendship Run at Steeple Rec!

If you're looking for something to keep the little ones entertained this summer, we've got a 1k race around the rec, which always ends up being an adorable affair!

And if you're looking to run a bit further, we've got 5k and 10k distances on offer. All participants receive seed medals and homemade cake (and hopefully some Strava kudos to boot).

Grab your tickets now via the link on our event page, or scan the QR code!

Just under a month to go until our Family Friendship Run!

And while races these days are getting expensive, entry for this one costs £12 max, or even less for shorter distances. Plus, money raised goes to our club charity, Young Minds, so why not turn up and run a few ks for a good cause?

With three different distances, homemade cake, and an ice cream van, this is a fun event for all the family. We hope to see you there! 💙💚

Relay Recap!

16 hardy Chasers took part in our World Cup-themed relay race last night.

We split into four teams, representing the last four countries left in the World Cup: England, Argentina, Spain, and France.

Starting and ending at The Waggon and Horses, runners then tackled a 2km route around Steeple Morden, with inflatable batons in hand.

And while they may have been knocked out of the actual World Cup, it was team France who brought home the victory!

Meanwhile, Phil achieved the fastest individual time, completing the lap in a speedy 9 mins 36 seconds (that's 4:48 per kilometre - wow!)

Thanks to all who took part, and thank you to our fabulous marshals (including Tor the dog) for making it possible.

Until next year…

We’ve got a mega Medal Monday this week - are you ready?

Laura Sims, Sarah Anderson, Katie, and Cameron took on the Outlaw Holkham Triathlon on Saturday - meaning a 750-metre swim, a 20km bike ride, and a 5k run! 🤩

But they weren’t our only outlaws, because on Sunday, Phil took on the Outlaw Holkham Half Ironman. He swam 1.2 miles, cycled 56 miles, and then finished up by running a half marathon.

If you’re tired just thinking about it, you’re certainly not the only one! This is a truly incredible achievement, and he finished strong with a time of 7 hours 18 minutes. 💪

And our volunteer outlaw, Astrid Slijkoord, was there to volunteer for the event, with Laura staying overnight to join her on the Sunday. These ladies have some serious community spirit 👏

Then, far away in Wales, Sass and Shirley Swanson spent the weekend zip wiring, abseiling, and hiking, commemorated with an awesome homemade medal from Sass!

And up in Newcastle, Hannah ran the Great North 10k - a shorter alternative to the Great North Run for anyone who always falls foul of the ballot.

We sure do get around in this club!

Yes Chef!

Our very own Astrid Slijkoord is never one to shy away from a unique running adventure, and on Sunday she participated in a collaboration event between Secret London Runs and Disney+ to celebrate the fifth and final season of their hit show, "The Bear."

She even donned an apron for the 5k run, though we're all more used to seeing her in colourful leggings!

Well done Astrid! You inspire us all to be a bit more adventurous ✨

Today's Medal Monday goes out to the wonderful Sass for completing the ZigZag 10k on Saturday, despite the intense heat.

Now that's commitment! Well done, Sass 💙💚

Medal Monday! 🏅

It was a scorcher this weekend, but that didn’t stop the Chasers from getting out there and smashing it at some fantastic local races.

Laura Sims and Shirley Swanson took on Frank’s Farm 5-Miler, battling the heat with brilliant support from Tony and Tor. A proper warm one, but both did amazingly and finished with smiles!

Meanwhile, Astrid Slijkoord, Alison Dyche, Sass, Shirley Swanson, Steve Dyche, Tara Gibbons, Jane Allton, and Anna Morley were flying the Chasers flag at the Bass Belle 10k on Sunday. It was another hot one, but everyone did so well and it was lovely to see so many club members out there representing. Big thanks to Ashley Hawkins for organising such a great local race.

And it wasn’t just about running this weekend! On Sunday, Emma Brown and Kim took on the London to Brighton Bike Ride, which is an absolutely amazing achievement. As if the distance wasn’t enough, they also had to deal with a 90-minute delay due to an accident, but both ladies kept going and finished with big smiles. We’re so proud of them!

And while Kim and Emma were sadly too late to make it to the pub for celebrations, we cheered them on all the way from The Waggon and Horses, with our respective medals on, of course!

A huge well done to everyone who raced, rode, supported, cheered, and survived the heat this weekend. What a brilliant effort! 🏃‍♀️🚴‍♀️☀️
