Did you know the club changed from Red & Black to Black & Red, which kit do you prefer? ⏱️⏱️

Last nights race in Trent Park, Mid Week League race 4 of the season. Featuring Tim Jones and his latest yoga pose for his RR club calendar. Another great night well done and thank you to everyone who attended and thanks to Trent Park Running Club for hosting.

🖤❤️ Where was the Black and Red Army on Tuesday night?

If you were wondering why the streets of Royston were suspiciously free of lycra-clad runners this week — club run was cancelled, and here's the thing: that's exactly the point.

And before anyone asks — no, we were not skiving off to watch the England game. For starters, club run would have been done and dusted well before England kicked off. And for seconds, did you watch that game? Genuinely, voluntarily running 5k in 28 degree heat would have been more entertaining. At least on a club run something actually happens.

We'll take the hills of Royston over watching England slowly hoof it around a pitch any day of the week. At least we know where we're going. Thomas, mate, we feel for you.

Anyway. The real reason Tuesday was cancelled — because unlike the England midfield, Royston Runners actually has a plan. 👇

Our brilliant welfare team put together this gorgeous Hot Weather Traffic Light Guidance to keep every single one of us safe in this ridiculous sunshine we're currently being subjected to. And if that wasn't enough, everyone who joined the club back in April got one of these beautiful branded water bottles as a welcome gift (they are personalised with our names and everything) — which, given the weather we've had since, has turned out to be possibly the most useful thing anyone has ever been handed at a running club. Timing, as they say, is everything.

(Mine has water in it. Probably.)

This is what running with a club that actually cares looks like. We're not just a group of people who run — we're a community that looks out for each other, whether that's on a Tuesday night club run, a Saturday morning parkrun, or a sweltering 10k somewhere in the Hertfordshire countryside.

If that sounds like your kind of club — and frankly it should — we'd absolutely love to have you with us. More goals than Tuesday night's game is basically guaranteed.

Again, low bar, we know.

📧 Drop us a line at [email protected] and come and find out what you've been missing.

Stay cool out there. The Black and Red Army will be back — and we promise to be considerably more exciting to watch than England. 🖤❤️☀️⚽😴

Stay safe everyone 🖤❤️

There are no races this week, but you might be in training for next week's triple-whammy of a race in each division.

There shouldn't be anyone who's unaware of the UKHSA declaring Red Heat Health Alert until the 25th June, but we want to see everyone arrive at the next race in a healthy state, so this week please take extra care when in the sun, whether running or not, and take on more water than you usually do.

What a night, what an amazing group of people! Mid Week League race 2, the rain managed to stop just before the start, which made for a great night of racing. A huge thanks to all our volunteers, without you it wouldn’t of been possible 🖤❤️🖤❤️

Are you looking for a way to give back to your community without a huge time commitment? We still need Event Directors and Run Directors to join the amazing volunteer team and help us launch junior parkrun in Royston.

You’ll be fully supported with training, and on your week it takes a small time commitment to help make the whole event happen.

If you want to support local children, boost their confidence, and be part of something joyful each Sunday — we’d love your help.
