A full-on weekend of racing for the Pure Bicycles crew. Plenty of grit, a few hard knocks, and some strong finishes to show for it — but more importantly, real progress across the board.

Proud of the effort, the attitude, and the way the team backed each other all weekend. That’s what it’s about.

Reset, refocus… onto Gosport 👊

The Pure family had a mixed bag of results at rounds 3 & 4 of the BC BMX National Series at the 2023 World Championship venue in Glasgow, Scotland. The atmosphere in the Team tent was great all weekend and despite some injuries and mixed results, the spirit stayed high throughout.

Notable results saw Teddy Gorman pick up his first ever National Win in Pure Team colours — a great start to his Factory Team career at just 9 years old. Unfortunately, Teddy had a spill in practice on Sunday and chose to rest, a wise move so early in the season. Meanwhile, Ruby Warren used her home track advantage along with her skill and determination to take the double win across Saturday & Sunday.

Iris Hajda was consistent in a tough Female 13’s category, battling through the pack to take 2nd on Saturday and 4th on Sunday. Alan Hill was strong throughout, with a 3rd on cruiser Saturday fuelling him to take three further wins across the weekend.

Our Junior Open boys pushed hard in a stacked class — Cody took 5th and Ben 7th on Saturday, while Sunday saw Ben Larkins just miss out on the podium in a photo finish for 3rd/4th, with identical times, finishing 4th. Cody crossed in 6th after another solid day.

Joe Douglas made his first A final in Pure colours on Sunday, riding brilliantly to 5th. Chris Maddren, despite limited bike time, took 7th Saturday and improved to a strong 4th Sunday. Maggie bounced back from missing out Saturday to take 6th in Championship Women.

Neil Stewart picked up top three results across motos and B finals, while Kyle Hill found the merged cruiser class tough but enjoyed the racing.

Harrison Bell endured a difficult weekend on his home track, with a heavy crash in Superclass resulting in fractures to his L2, L3 & L4 vertebrae. Heal up fast Harrison — we know you’ll be back stronger.
All in all, a great event and strong racing from the team. See you in Gosport...
