MATCH REPORT | U12 JUNIORS

Rugby Town Juniors U12s 5–1 Balsall & Berkswell Colts U12s

Back at Ashlawn for another home game and another really positive performance from the boys! 💙

We started brilliantly, moving the ball quickly and playing some lovely flowing football. The opening goal soon followed when Kendrick found Jimmy, who finished well to grab his first goal of the season! ⚽️

We kept the pressure on and Owen played Adem through, who somehow managed to score via a double deflection – including one off his face! 😂⚽️ Not quite how we practised finishing at training, but they all count!

Balsall pulled one back against the run of play, but we stayed composed and went into half-time with a deserved 2–1 lead.

The second half started much the same way. We continued to move the ball around really well, showed plenty of fight and, most importantly, kept calm when we were under pressure and continued trying to play out from the back.

At the other end, Danny produced probably his best save of the season so far – an unbelievable stop which was celebrated by the boys almost like we’d scored a goal! 👏 A great little moment that showed the togetherness in this team.

We soon extended our lead when Jacob N found Owen, who clearly didn't want Adem getting all the glory and somehow managed to score via another double deflection involving his face! 😂⚽️ Apparently using your feet is optional now!

Owen then grabbed his second, and this one needed no help! Cole delivered a brilliant deep cross, Owen brought it under control with a lovely touch and finished it off to make it four.

Adem then rounded off the scoring in style, stepping up to a free kick and firing it into the top corner for his second of the game. 🚀⚽️

A 5–1 win, but more importantly another big step forward in how we want to play. The boys are doing exactly what we’re asking of them – showing more fight, moving the ball quicker, staying composed and playing some really good football.

And with the chances we created, it genuinely could have been a lot more!

⭐️ PLAYERS OF THE MATCH ⭐️

Ellis – Huge performance at the back. Always focused, tidied everything up and stayed calm playing out from defence. He also had a great spell in midfield where he got forward and tested their keeper. Brilliant all-round performance.

Adem – His best performance for us so far. His movement was excellent and he was a constant threat. Played striker, wing and centre midfield for the team and gave us something wherever he played. Two goals as well, including a superb free kick!

Thanks to Alex for running the line and Mark for recording the game.

And a massive thank you to our sponsors Melbros and Mulberry Homes for their continued support of the team.

Another performance to be really proud of.

Up the Valley! 💙

⚽️ MATCH REPORT | U12 JUNIORS ⚽️

Sky Blues in the Community U12 Hawks 3–3 Rugby Town Juniors U12s

We travelled to the Alan Higgs Centre for something a little different this weekend, playing on the astro inside the indoor dome, and the boys produced arguably our best performance of the season so far!

We got off to the perfect start. Jacob N played a lovely ball through to Owen, who finished smartly to put us 1–0 up almost straight away.

From there we played some really good football, moving the ball well and creating chances. We probably should have pulled a couple clear, but just couldn’t find that second goal.

Sky Blues then grabbed a slightly fortuitous equaliser, with some question over whether the ball had actually crossed the line, but the goal was given and it was 1–1.

The boys responded brilliantly. We took control again and Harry delivered a superb corner which Adem attacked really well to score his first goal for Rugby Town Juniors and send us into half-time 2–1 up! ⚽️

The second half couldn’t have started much worse! We switched off straight from the kick-off and Sky Blues punished us immediately to make it 2–2.

We didn’t let it knock us though and continued to push forward. We had two strong penalty appeals turned down before, against the run of play, the Hawks found another goal to put us 3–2 behind.

But there was absolutely no giving up from this group. 💪

We pushed and pushed for the equaliser before Kendrick stepped up to a free kick just inside the Sky Blues half…

🚀 WHAT A HIT!

He absolutely smashed it into the top corner for 3–3 and an early Goal of the Season contender! 🔥⚽️

We kept going right until the final whistle looking for a winner, but it just wouldn’t quite come.

A draw on the day, but a performance we can take so much from. The boys showed loads of heart, played some excellent football and kept battling even when things went against us. If we keep playing like this and keep improving, the results will come.

⭐️ PLAYERS OF THE MATCH ⭐️

Kendrick – He was everywhere! Won possession back countless times and was having a brilliant game even before THAT goal. The strike just topped off a superb performance.

Cole – His heart and effort for his teammates is fantastic. He had plenty of defending to do but kept battling throughout and started some really good moves from the sidelines.

Thanks to Mark for running the line and to all of our parents for the brilliant continued support.

And finally, a massive thank you to our sponsors Melbros abd Mullberry Homes for helping make what we do possible. 💙

What a performance from the Predators today! 👏

A great all-round display where every single player played their part. We looked confident, worked hard for each other and played some excellent football throughout. Today we really looked like a team capable of challenging right at the top of the league! 💙

With the game going our way, it was also a great opportunity to try a few of the boys in different positions, and they adapted brilliantly. The fitness levels really showed too — we kept the intensity up and continued playing our football right until the end.

⚽️ MATCH REPORT ⚽️

Rugby Town Juniors U12s 5–3 Sky Blues Community U12 Hawks

Our first home game of the season at Ashlawn, and the boys certainly made us work for this one! 😅

We started quickly, with Jacob N opening the scoring with a brilliant long-range effort. Sky Blues responded almost immediately, but from there we took control of the first half.

Jimmy found Owen, who finished really well from a tight angle to put us back ahead, before Theo M laid the ball off for Jacob N to grab his second of the game – another great strike from distance! ⚽️

Blake then made it 4-1 from the penalty spot after being brought down inside the box. Sky Blues pulled one back just before the break, sending us in 4-2 up at half-time.

The second half was an almighty battle.

We were already missing a couple of boys and had picked up a few knocks during the game. Sky Blues were very physical and came out strongly, grabbing an early goal to make it 4-3 and really putting us under pressure.

But the boys dug in. 💪

We kept rotating, defended resolutely and worked incredibly hard for each other. Danny pulled off a couple of fantastic saves when we needed him, and every player on the pitch put a shift in.

Eventually Sky Blues started to run out of steam and we managed to get hold of the game again. We created a few good chances before Blake was fouled in front of goal and stepped up to calmly put away his second penalty of the game.

5-3. Full time. 🙌

Probably not our best footballing performance, but definitely one of our best for character. It was great to see the boys play through the knocks, keep going when things got tough and fight so hard for their teammates. A win they thoroughly earned. 👏

⭐️ PLAYERS OF THE MATCH ⭐️

🏆 Blake – Played all over the pitch, took plenty of knocks but stayed positive throughout. Showed huge heart and calmly slotted home two excellent penalties.

🏆 Cole – Used every ounce of energy he had! Matched them physically, showed great bravery and caused them all sorts of problems when we moved him onto the wing.

A big thank you to Phil M for running the line, and as always, brilliant support from all the parents. 👏

And finally, a huge thank you to our sponsors Melbros and Mulberry Homes for their continued support of the boys. 💙
