🏏🎉 ANSTON CRICKET CLUB ANNUAL FUN DAY IS BACK! 🎉🏏

Join us on Sunday 28th June for a fantastic day of family fun at Anston Cricket Club, starting from 10:00am!

Whether you’re a club member, local resident, or just looking for a great family day out, everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the fun.

We’re also looking for tombola prize donations and volunteers to help make the day a success. Likewise, if you can spare some time to help on the day, we’d love to hear from you!

A fantastic weekend for the club with 4 wins from 5 across Saturday and Sunday!

1st XI came out on top against Gedling & Sherwood. Callum Hill top-scored with a superb 72 from 90 balls on a tricky track, while Luke Hall held the innings together with a patient 38.

With the temperature rising, Syed struck early to put Anston on their way before Charlie Pearson doubled last week’s wicket tally, following up his 3 wickets with a superb 6-30 from 9.5 overs. Brilliant bowling, Chazzy P! 👏

2nd XI posted a competitive 223/6 from their 40 overs, with Matt Watson scoring his first century of the season – a brilliant knock. Unfortunately, Grassmoor chased the target down 2 wickets down with 3.1 overs to spare, despite Anston’s efforts in the field.

3rd XI extended their winning streak. Dhanu continued his fine form with 59 from 51 balls, while Ben Tomlinson’s composed 49* guided the team home after restricting Langwith to 168/7 from 40 overs.

4th XI were inspired by Archie Ruczenczyn, who smashed the ball to parts of Milton that had never been discovered before, finishing on a sensational 160 from just 100 balls* – his highest senior score and a fantastic milestone! Anston posted 242, before bowling Milton 2nd XI out for just 81. Max Stott returned superb figures of 3/7 from 8 overs, with Josh Canadine also starring with 3/20 from 6 overs.

Our Sunday XI made light work of Castle View, bowling them out for 126. Jake Sommerville had the Castle View batters in knots with exceptional figures of 6/14 from 10 overs. Anston then chased down the target in just over 20 overs, with Jamie Hall finishing unbeaten on a classy 58*. Hopefully the first of many this season! 👏

A brilliant effort from everyone involved. Hopefully it’s a Saturday and Sunday full of Green W’s next weekend! 💙

Well done to our U9s on their first win at Norton Oakes Cricket Club tournament today. Great teamwork, effort and a great day.
