π WEEKEND RESULTS | ANSTON CC π
Another busy weekend for Anston CC, with three wins from four across our senior sides! ππ
π΅ 1ST XI
A tough result for the 1st XI against CAVS 2s, with Anston bowled out for just 42 on a minefield of a wicket. CAVS eventually reached 43/5 to take the win.

π΅ 2ND XI
A fantastic performance from the 2nd XI as they secured a convincing 52-run victory over Clumber 1s.
Anston posted an excellent 271/9, with Kalyan Ampolu leading the way with a superb 108. Max Stott (29) and Jacob Lyne (26) also made valuable contributions.
The bowlers then backed it up brilliantly, with Jake Sommerville (3/20) and Dom Moyle (3/37) taking three wickets apiece to seal an excellent win.
π₯ A great all-round performance from the 2s!
π΅ 3RD XI
Another strong performance from the 3rd XI saw them beat Woodsetts 1s by 30 runs.
Anston put 227 on the board, with Edward Marshall (32), Ben Tomlinson (31) and Tom Sproson (28) all contributing to a solid team total.
With the ball, Joe Clay was the standout performer with an excellent 4/25, with Ben Tomlinson and Tom Sproson also picking up wickets as Anston secured another victory.
π A well-earned win for the 3s!
π΅ SUNDAY XI
The Sunday side rounded off the weekend with a convincing 50-run victory over Grassmoor Sun.
Anston posted 172 all out, with Edward Walshaw (29), Jake Carter (26) and Chandula Weerakkody (25) leading the scoring.
The bowling attack then turned the screw, bowling Grassmoor out for 122. Jake Carter was the pick with an outstanding 3/7, supported by Jake Sommerville (2/25) and Albie Smith (2/26).

Three wins, plenty of excellent individual performances and some great cricket across the club.

Last Sunday, our Anston Arrows took on league leaders Pen*stone CC in a tough Super 8s fixture.
Pen*stone posted an impressive 320, despite a strong bowling and fielding effort from the Arrows. π

π WEEKEND SENIOR RESULTS π
A mixed weekend for our senior sides saw two impressive victories and two tough defeats.
1st XI
Our 1st XI battled hard but fell 34 runs short against Clifton. Callum Hill led the chase with a superb 91, while Lewis Brealey (4-45) and Syed Hassan (4-47) both impressed with the ball.
2nd XI
A dominant all-round display saw the 2nd XI defeat Cuckney 3s by 108 runs. Matt Watson (85) anchored the innings before Archie Ruczenczyn smashed a quick-fire 41 from just 14 balls, including two fours and FIVE sixes, with Kalyan Ampolu (45) also making a valuable contribution. With the ball, Jake Carter (4-44) and Ryan Staniland (3-22) led the attack brilliantly to complete a convincing victory.
3rd XI
Another outstanding performance came from the 3rd XI, who defeated Sherwood Colliery 2s by 120 runs. Anthony Roddis continued his incredible season, bringing up his third century of the campaign with a magnificent unbeaten 106, supported by Jamie Hall (52). With the ball, Joe Clay (3-28), Finlay Helliwell (2-16) and Tom Curtis (2-26) sealed an excellent team win.
4th XI
The 4th XI were unable to get over the line against Mansfield 3s despite a determined effort. Leighton Hill (40), Michael Canadine (25) and Phil Beech (23) top scored, while Phillip Canadine (3-22) and Oliver Storey (1-26) were the pick of the bowlers.
Congratulations to our 2nd and 3rd XIs on fantastic wins, and well played to everyone who represented Anston Cricket Club over the weekend. We go again this weekend. ππ
