Gym is available all day. Tkd classes start at 4pm until 7:30 then we finish with Kickboxing. Sports Therapy clinic open too.

FINAL FEW PLACES: FREE BRITISH STUNT REGISTER TRAINING IN PENISTONE THIS WEEKEND

When we say you will be trained by real working film and television stunt professionals, we are not exaggerating.

We can now officially introduce the British Stunt Register team delivering Action to Screen at Quest Taekwondo in Oxspring this Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August.

LEAD INSTRUCTOR: TOM RODGERS

Tom is a Key Stunt Performer and fight-choreography specialist whose credits include:

Tom will be supported by BSR members Craig Canning and Adam Smith.

These are working professionals who have helped create action for some of the biggest film and television productions in the world, and they are coming to Pen*stone to train a small group of local young people completely free of charge.

Across the two days, participants will learn:

Safe unarmed screen combat
Choreography using prop weapons
Reactions and breakfalls
Camera awareness and performance
How to make a screen fight look convincing without anyone being hurt
How professional action sequences are planned and filmed
Career routes into stunt performance, acting, film and television

This is not real fighting or unsupervised combat. Everything is carefully choreographed, professionally supervised and taught within a fully risk-assessed environment.

The skills are hugely valuable for anyone interested in:

Screen acting
Stage combat and theatre
Filmmaking
Martial arts
Dance and physical performance
Stunt work
Careers in film and television

Everyone who completes the course will receive:

A certificate of completion signed by the tutors
A free all-day pass to Pen*stone Film Festival on Saturday 17 October
The opportunity to create a short action film for screening at the historic Pen*stone Paramount

Wear comfortable sports clothing and suitable trainers. Bring a packed lunch, snacks and a refillable drinks bottle.
