We’ve been delighted to welcome the Bud Evans Meadowhall U18 league to carry out their AGM this evening … and this Thursday we welcome Sheffield Referees Association for their meeting … doing our very best to help those who make our game possible 🤝🤝

Pirate hat on head, collection bucket in hand – our patron Acker Shaw cuts a familiar figure at football matches across the region!

For the past 26 years, he’s been raising money for our charity in memory of his beloved wife Brenda, who passed away in 2000 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Acker originally set out to raise £52k – £1,000 for every year of Brenda’s life. 💜

He surpassed his goal in 2018 and has gone on to raise more than £170k for individuals and families facing cancer.

This year was a record for Acker, with £20k collected at 140 sporting events! ⭐

His act of love has helped us to fund vital cancer research, treatment enhancements, and support services – and we’re so grateful for his dedication.

Two of our players had the fantastic opportunity to be involved in a charity football match in support of the Alzheimer's Society today. Josh & Jamie, Grandsons of a resident at Pingley Court Care Home, organised the match to help support and raise awareness for such an important cause!

It was brilliant to see the boys getting involved representing the team and showing that football is about so much more than what happens on the pitch. ⚽️💙

After a difficult start losing our keeper after 5 minutes and a defender going in goal the ladies reaction was excellent and showed what this group is all about 🧡🖤

The dust has settled on our season opener and what a contest it was!

We created plenty of chances and played some great football, and the highlight was undoubtedly that stunning overhead kick from Alfie Ross ⚡ a moment of real quality that put us 1–0 up and had everyone cheering.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t our day. We were unlucky to miss further opportunities, and a couple of errors saw the visitors capitalise, scoring twice in quick succession to turn the game around and take the win.

But that’s football and it’s all about how you respond. 💪 Our young side showed great spirit, commitment and ability, and there were so many positives to build on. We dust ourselves off, learn from it, and go again starting Thursday!
