Following the huge success of our recent quiz night where we had more than 60 players, we will be holding our 2nd quiz night on the 6th May. Anyone wishing to enter a team, please get in touch ASAP (max team size of 6)

We will open for outdoor bowling with a game on Saturday 16th April starting 2 pm.
President Kevin Smith will officially open the season with the first bowl.
We'll dip in for teams.
Dress code will be relaxed but wear club shirt, whites if you can or something cheerful if not!
The bar will be open, times to be advised.
Please try to be there by 1.30 to get the teams sorted.

QUIZ NIGHT!

Following the creation of our new Social Committee, we are pleased to announce our very first event, a quiz night on Friday 8th April!

Maximum team size is 6 and there will be a cash prize for the winners!

Hopefully we’ll see you there! 😊

Well done to Dan Kasper and Will Moulton of Atherley and to all the other players of Hampshire U25 Double rink, who beat Kent today to qualify for the National Final.

This will take place at Nottingham IBC on April 2nd 2022.

Good luck to Atherley in the National semi final of the Denny Plate tomorrow against Clarrie Dunbar. Two rinks will be playing at home and two away. All spectators will be welcome. The match starts at 10.00am so please come along and support the team.

A great time was had by all at the Halloween event on Saturday... and the raffle raised money for Mountbatten Hampshire. Thanks everyone!

Yes, that's right 2020...

Covid clobbered us in March 2020 then again in the Autumn.... but the Mens Singles Final 2019 - 20 can at last take place!

Come and watch Kevin Smith v Wayne Stewart on Friday October 1st. 6 p.m.

You can also have a drink or two at the bar and have some food as well... Jody and JoMo are ready to welcome you!

Every Friday night starting 1st October Jo and John Mohindra will be at the Club from 6p.m. to serve you. Many members will know Jo & John from bowling at the Sports Centre - they are well known for their good food.

AUNTIE JOMO’S SUNDAY LUNCHES: Starting Sunday 3rd October from 12p.m. to 2p.m. and then every other Sunday John & Jo will be offering a Sunday Roast Dinner Service. All fresh/ home-made ingredients, nothing from frozen! For Sunday lunches you will need to pre-order your reservation and food choices: there is a sign-up sheet on the notice board by the bar. Any special requirements call Jo on 07787 41794.

The weather stayed fine for our Club Finals this morning with a nice number of spectators.

Joe Leahy beat Duncan Beck in the Green Medal. Linda Stephenson beat Chris Campion in the Silver Bowl after an extremely tight match. The Ladies Championship was won by Non Lake after Vicky Chadd was forced to concede after feeling unwell. Good wishes to Vicky for a speedy recovery.

A big thank you to Alan Stafford and Graham Ward for giving up their time to act as Markers and to Liz Bartlett for presenting the trophies and acting as photographer. A good morning was had by all.

Club Finals rescheduled!

Atherley has qualified for the Quarter Finals of the National Mens Top Club competition at Leamington Spa next weekend.

This is magnificent news which presents us with a problem. Several people - including the man who runs the bar - will be in Leamington on Saturday 18th.

We want to give everyone involved the chance to play Club Finals together on the same day if at all possible.

For this reason, we will postpone Club Finals day for 1 week, to Saturday 25th September.

If you cannot play that day for whatever reason, please make arrangements with your opponent to play at any time before that date.

Congratulations to the Atherley National Top Club team that beat Wootton Basset at Sutton Bowls Club, Reading this morning. They now go forward to play in the last eight at Leamington Spa next Saturday. Great team effort.
