Founded in 1914 as a 13-hole course on Yarm Back Lane, Eaglescliffe moved to its present position in 1928 with a long 18-hole, Par 77 course designed by the famous James Braid. Part of the course was taken for growing crops during the war and then additional land was leased in 1948, and eventually purchased in 1959, enabling the course to be extended back to 18 holes again. It was an absolute pleasure to have Glenn⁩ Kyle and James Gilroy⁩ bang the Yarm & Eaglescliffe FC drum at the Teesside West Rotary meeting in the restaurant tonight.

These two Y&E legends did the fans, players, volunteers, sponsors and committee extremely proud tonight and educated a room of 30 plus people on the amazing club, the journey so far and the future aspirations.

Everyone was engrossed and one of the members said it was the best talk they’ve ever seen at a Rotary meeting.

Well Done lads.

An extremely sad day for North East golf with the closure of one of our neighbouring golf courses at the 115 year old Dinsdale Golf Club.

A fantastic day yesterday at EGC saw Tom Smith once again crowned Club Champion.

A fantastic score of -5 (68/71) saw him finish ahead of Jack Robinson in 2nd place.
