Football team!!

25/02/2021

Let's never take football for granted ever again, them cold mornings, them muddy kits we will be glad to see back.

When we kick back in lets make sure we are enjoying the game, trying our best, parents out in force supporting the girls and let's make the rest of this season and next the best and most enjoyable seasons we have ever had.

We aim to be bigger and better than ever

We wrote this one a few years back, but lockdown and the ongoing problems we have faced over the last year have made us review how much we love it and how much its missed by us all when we don’t have football. You really don’t know what you have until it’s gone. Goodnight everyone, stay safe.

Well done to Georgia and Shannon who won the last zoom bingo.
Winnings have been sent over 😍😍😍

If we can get more of you girls attending the zooms we can make it a regular thing.
So you girls who take part, give the others a nudge to join please.

Morning girls.
So we have no game scheduled until at least the 20th Of February.
So it is really important after the tough preseason training and friendlies that you try and keep yourselves as fit as possible, so that all of your hard work throughout this time does not go to waste, and when we are ready to go again you are prepared for the games. You have all made so much progress this season already, let's keep that progress going.

Please keep joining the zoom meetings that are sent to you, these do not only compensate you to stay fit, but to keep contact with team mates and management so that you are up to speed with what is going on.

Besides that with being in lockdown, it will also benefit mental health to keep in contact with your team mates/friends throughout this time. Your team mates are all experiencing the same as you, uncertainty around exams, missed college, missed football and not being able to see friends/family, help one another and check on your team mates

Well this week we have had a couple of fun but hard work training sessions. It was nice to see the girls laughing and having fun.

But on that note we would like to wish all the girls and parents/guardians a very merry Christmas, and here is hoping to a better 2021 for us all.
From Dwayne, Mike, Tracy and Michelle.

A few videos from Saturdays game against port vale.
Still lots to work on, but wow what an improvement from pre season.
Just goes to show hard work pays off, so much achieved in such a short amount of time.
Imagine continuing with that hard work, what next season could bring ❀❀.
Quality of the videos is better watching on a phone :)

Festive and season greetings. Today we played a very rare match considering the type of year we are having it was a great day out for players, fans and parents/guardians.

A winter sunny Saturday morning in which both teams were missing players didnt dim the football that was on display. Port Vale started on the front foot with some good build up play down the right just to see the shot fired wide. A few moments later a rare mistake at the back saw Vale got in but the shot came to nothing. Hanley started to get in the game a bit more from Lacey linking up with Shannon, Kelis to send Geo through just over hitting the pass. Vale went close mid way through the first half just clipping the top of the cross bar from a Cross/Shot from out wide. Some great feet from Shannon send Wilshaw through on goal pulling a good save from the goalkeeper. Both teams had half chances with Hanley Miller, Kelis and Sophia testing the but nothing dangerous. A good pass from Elle to Abi to cross for Geo just a touch over hit in which a goal would have been scored just before half time.

0-0 HT

Second started with Hanley on top with some fancy feet from Lacey pulling a top save from the keeper. Chances came through Paris, Sophia, Wilshaw, Geo, Lacey, Kelis and Shannon but couldn't get that first goal the pressure merited. An in swing corner saw Shantel going for the spectacular overhead kick just for the keeper to deny her the moment of glory. Good build up play with Elle Abi and Geo saw Wilshaw through on goal just knocking it too wide. Vale on the counter attack nearly took the lead but the crossbar is still shaking. The move of the match came through Miller, On to Kelis to Lacey over to Darci first time cross but no one could control and finish. Best chance fell to Sophia 6 yards out from a corner just firing over. A solid display from both defenses and alot encouraging performances from the Hanley Town Ladies.

Player of the Match - Lacey

Managers words:- I said to all the girls thank you for that today it was a pleasure to watch you play and try to do what's been ask. They have set the bench mark high for themselves which is a credit to them for listening and taking the information onboard. Well done to Darci, Miller, Elle, Kelis and Lacey for taking the information from half time and deliver second half.

The hard work doesn't stop here we still have to keep on progression and developing ready for the next game.

Well last Christmas we had a day/night out and secret santa. Really sorry that we can't do anything this Christmas, let's hope for a very big presentation night when covid dies down.

So the girls are going to love me for these photos NOT.

On a good note I would like to say well done to the girls, for sticking it out through the tough times we have had this year.
For upping your training and commitment to the team.
Progression is evident and with that wins will follow, its a process and you are on the right path.
Work hard and rewards will follow.
