In our latest article, Laura from Defy Gravity Studios explored the value of syllabus training.

"I believe syllabus training underpins solid technical foundations. The dancers who have followed a structure show a better physical understanding of multiple genres with technical knowledge to back them up! Many of our students are now progressing through vocational colleges and those who have graduated are booking professional jobs. Each one of them has studied bbodance from a young age going through the exam pathway."

Why do you love syllabus training?

We recently spoke to bbodance Registered Teacher, Laura, who shared her experience teaching our syllabus. Laura highlighted the clear progression markers, safe technical foundations and sense of achievement she sees in her dancers.

Laura was a bbodance student herself before completing our teaching qualifications and opening her own school. The confidence she gained as a student taking exams is now felt as pride, watching her own students progress and enjoy their training.

Springing into a Monday with high energy and full focus! 💥✨

​Today marks the beginning of a new block/term!

​It’s going to be a huge week across all studio spaces as rehearsals officially kick off for both Gotta Dance and Dance027!
The hard work starts right now, and we can’t wait to see these show routines come to life. 🎟️💃🕺

Circling back to last week's post about how valuable syllabus training can be!

Through DefyGravityStudios these young ladies have followed the syllabus from Introduction to Vocational grades and now have places at some of the most prestigious higher education establishments in UK.

Their technique almost certainly got them there!!!

The repetition allows you to progress steadily and put all the necessary building blocks in place.

The dancer who trained technically in Ballet, Jazz, Tap by following a tried and tested model will always have the edge!!

The exams are optional, the training optimal !!
