Join Kate Clark, Geoff Jessup, Geoffrey McCaughan and Liz Schick for an important session exploring movement, confidence and long-term recovery after transplantation across all levels of ability.

From everyday activity to endurance sport, movement looks different for everyone. This session will bring together patient experiences and clinical perspectives to explore how we can better support every recipient on their recovery journey.

🌍 MY FIRST WORLD TRANSPLANT GAMES

For kidney transplant recipient Koji Ishizuka from Japan, the 2025 World Transplant Games in Dresden were about far more than competition.

After facing a life-threatening illness, Koji returned to sport alongside athletes who had overcome their own extraordinary journeys. The experience brought a powerful sense of gratitude, connection and hope—and winning gold in the javelin made his first Games even more unforgettable. 🥇🇯🇵

As Koji beautifully shares:

“Sport taught me that it is okay to live, to connect, and to move forward.”
