At last, it’s time to get going again ready for the 2025 season. 🥳 “G-Mail” jumping at home and new kid on the block “Cruz” having her first outing away from home.

A great day for YYM eventing’s 5yr old G-Mail as he contested his first BE 100. It’s always exciting when you see the progress after buying them as a yearling. High hopes for this special boy.

It’s been a busy weekend for Ynys-y-Mond eventing and we have been a little slack with posting updates, but this weekend we have 3 horses out with 3 different jockeys. 3 double clears and a 1st 2nd 3rd. First up, Holly & Rachel’s “Shirsheen Donna” who is based with Oliver Townend for a few months whilst Holly did her exams, was at offchurchbury, her first seasons eventing, 4 runs and 4 top 3 placings. Finishing on 25.8 🥳
Then back together again was Philippa Herbert’s Katinka, with Gwen. Making their comeback a very successful one to win the 100 open at Howick. It’s so lovely to have Gwen back on the team.
Last but by no means least, our newest member Kate hicks riding her own “Swallowcroft stardust” a double clear in the 80 to finish 2nd at Howick. Hols horses having the weekend off enjoying some canter work ready for Upton early July.

No eventing for us this weekend as we have a very busy week ahead. However we get bored sitting at home, so the two oldies of the team went out for a spot of BD this morning.
There is always a bit of friendly competitive rivalry, with Gwen having two attempts to win! It was a 1.2.3 for team YYM.
A win for Rach & her own “Iron Maiden” closely followed by Philippa Herbert’s “Katinka” whom Gwen has just taken back the ride from Holly after an 18 month break to have Mali. YYM eventings “”G-Mail” took 3rd place. (He really is one to watch) Then another win for Rach in the second test. A fab day and we even had prize money 🎉

Well that was a mammoth and exciting weekend.
Aston le walls was our destination, with a string of horses aboard we were all loaded ready to leave at 4am, to arrive in time to watch our 6yr old “Shirsheen Donna” compete at her first BE event with Oliver Townend. Ollie very kind said he would take the ride for a few months whilst Holly concentrates on her GCSE exams. A fabulous double clear for 2nd in the 100.
Hollys weekend was a very busy one, with 3 very different horses. Competing in the 90, 100, & novice. Super tests and a double clear again for iron maiden. Hols now heads to the junior national champs, well after she’s sat a few more exams.
Another highlight was Gwen & Rachel’s 5yr old stallion G-Mail who also made his debut in the 90 with a double clear, having Gwen back on board and part of the team just made it such a lovely weekend.

12 yr old Kate Hicks did her first ever event scoring a double clear and finishing 8th. We truly couldn’t be prouder of Kate and her pony Dusty.
The sun shone and everyone was smiling.

It’s been a crazy few days for Ynysymond eventing. Started off with a trip to Kelsall for Holly & Wishing time in the 2* which was also a junior observation trial. Reubs was on top form jumping a super double clear to finish 7th and the highest place junior, then a quick turnaround to head off to Aston le walls for Gwen and the stallion “g-mails” first ever event, it’s a training event, which is a fantastic idea for the young horses, Aston jumped a super double clear and really is quite exciting.
