Ever wanted to get your open water qualification but not got around to it?
We have a great opportunity for you to join us in and around the Maritime Conservation Zone in Pembrokeshire, Wales for your Open Water course, your first internationally recognised scuba diving qualification which qualifies you to dive to 18 metres.
The course will take place between Wednesday 5th and Sunday 9th August, meeting at 9am each day. The first two days we'll be concentrating on your confined water skills using a lovely northerly facing inlet with rock formations both sides and a gradually sloping bottom offering swimming pool like qualities, a wealth of life in the water too!
You'll have a day off on the Friday before we pick up the course again on the weekend of 8th & 9th with us exploring a very special site to which the Skomer Nature Reserve extends on the Sunday.
We've been diving these sites regularly recently, water temperature 17c and on the up and we are experiencing visibility exceeding 10/12m, the conditions are set to remain!
Cost is £550 which includes your online course materials with Dive RAID International, a wonderful training agency who are internationally recognised allowing you to dive the world over. The cost also includes certification and full scuba dive equipment.
We request a £275 deposit to purchase and allocate your materials and the cost also covers the first two days (confined water) training with the balance requested by the weekend of the open water phase.

We look forward to hearing from you, teaching you and showing you some of the best of what UK diving has to offer.

It’s been a tough ten days for Paul Bolter-Shone & Joe Kruger on their Dive RAID International Instructor course.
All their hard work, determination and steadfast commitment has paid off today by passing their two day Instructor Examinations with Peter Black, Dive RAID Examiner at Capernwray Dive Centre in Lancashire today!! 👏 👏 👏
They are both now SCUBA INSTRUCTORS!!!! 😎 🤿
Be loud & proud about your achievements, it’s not an easy course by any stretch and the IE certainly doesn’t stand for “It’s Easy!”
Two days of academic, confined and open water presentations along with a criteria pass or fail rescue assessment and final written exams.
Long nights of preparation and study stretching into the early hours have finally paid off. We are immensely proud of you both, well done and well deserved is an understatement. Those who will learn under your guidance will be in extremely safe and throughly capable hands.
We are proud of you both!!
Thank you to Pete for putting the guys through their paces and Lewis & Charlie for their in water support acting as victims & students.

CALLING BSAC DIVE LEADERS:
Are you a qualified BSAC Dive Leader or Divemaster looking at becoming a Scuba Instructor with global recognition under the International Recreational Scuba Training Council banner (ie equivalent with agencies such as SSI, PADI, CMAS, SDI, CMAS etc? Some guys in BSAC call it 'Commercial'. Yes, you will be subject to HSE approved code of practice and you will require a HSE diving at work medical to teach, surely that's a good thing?
We'll be running our next RECREATIONAL INSTRUCTOR COURSE Friday 22nd to Sunday 31st May '26 inclusive.
We made the transition from another global agency to Dive RAID International back in 2018, we originally came into the agency to teach technical programs alongside Technical Diving International (TDI). Soon it was apparent that the agency had done an excellent job reverse engineering all their courses right down to Open Water and have, since their creation been a totally digital agency. No out of date course materials, all bang up to date, easily amended, links directly to You Tube for our open water students so they can see skills being conducted and most importantly not only interchangeable with other agencies and internationally recognised but also ISO accredited. No more storing of paper medical/liability paperwork for 7 years, the system allows you to easily track students' progress through sections they've viewed to quizzes and exams they've completed, so very easy for you to give quality feedback on their journey. At the end of the course, you access a series of sing-offs, if you've missed anything then you have an opportunity to get back in and rectify it.
Finally, the student logs in, has to agree with your skill sign-offs before certification. No more seeing students on certain courses claiming this skill, or that skill was missed. Quality training delivered with quality management tool as part of the system delivered by quality Instructors.
Yes, there may be rare occasions our open water students may have to go on their knees in the early stages of the course to complete a skill but our mission is to ensure they can conduct these skills with neutral buoyancy. Better for them & better for the environment!
PREREQUISITES:
You must be a Divemaster from any IRSTC accredited training agency (SSI, CMAS, PADI, SDI, NAUI etc) or BSAC Dive Leader.
