Following the RFU's announcement this week, the start of the 2026/27 competitive community rugby season has been pushed back.

That means we'll have to wait a little longer for our first league game — but the work doesn't stop.

Pre-season continues every Wednesday at 7pm at Calne Rec, giving us a little more time to get ready for the season ahead.

And if you've been thinking about getting back into rugby, or giving it a go for the first time, there's now even more time to get involved before the competitive season begins.

🏆 Club Volunteers of the Year!

We’re incredibly proud to share that Peter & Susan Brownlie have been awarded the Dorset & Wilts RFU Bowden/Wildash Trophy for Club Volunteers of the Year.

The award was presented at the Dorset & Wilts RFU AGM by retiring President Sean Macey, recognising Pete and Suz’s contribution to Calne Rugby Club.

As anyone involved in grassroots rugby knows, clubs simply don’t run without volunteers. While Pete and Suz were the names on the trophy this year, there are so many people who give their time to keep Calne RFC moving forward.

So this feels like a good opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who gives their time to our club. ❤️💙
