Arlington Court Orienteering 6th Sept.
Entries are open on Racesignup.
https://racesignup.co.uk/Arlington-Court

Phil is currently looking for volunteers and in particular First Aiders, so if you can help on the day please let him know.
Staff at the NT estate are keen to see how an orienteering event works so a good turn out will help show them and will help us gain support for holding more events there in future.
You can make a day of it and also view the house, walled kitchen garden and the National Carriage Museum in this picturesque location. The main house, café, toilets, registration and download are all close together making this an ideal setting for an enjoyable event.

QO at the Lakes 5 Days

Some 21 or so Quantock Orienteers attended the Lakes 5 Days 2026 event. The lakes offer some of the most demanding terrain. The event is renowned for big hills, intricate contour detail, rough ground and the kind of long uphill walks to the start that have become stories in their own right. Across the week, QO runners (and walkers) performed relatively well, navigating some brutally technical areas but enjoying the team spirit that makes multi-day events so special.

See how we did each day in the full write up https://www.quantockorienteers.co.uk/archive/qo-at-the-lakes-5-days

We had a great evening last night at Oake SPunch. Lots of familiar faces and we welcomed some new ones too. Having the pub right at the finish allowed everyone to hang around for a social, food and drinks at the end, comparing their routes.

Nuns cross Farm Event Sunday 26th July.
Traditional Orienteering in good areas but without the flags ! as its a maprun. Locate the feature and it records it for you. Dartmoor in the summer.

With five Sundays available, for the competitive amongst you we will be compiling a league table for each of the courses on offer with your best 3 results on that course being taken into account. 100 pts for first, 99 for second and so on. Because of the very open and quite remote terrain these courses are not suitable for inexperienced Orienteers.

Thank you to everyone who made the journey out to Roadwater for a glorious evening of orienteering on Exmoor. A very special thanks must go to Paul and Sonia for putting on an excellent BBQ and for allowing us to use their estate grounds. I hope everyone managed to get a chance for a dip in the pond!
Provisional results are now live, but please submit any control correction requests directly to [email protected] and we will review the traces/ credit accordingly.
Our next event is next week in Lydeard St Lawrence. We hope to see you all there. https://www.quantockorienteers.co.uk/events/lydeard-st-lawrence-2026-05-14
