Very true.

Kihon 基本
When the visiting instructor has to return to Kihon because no one practices enough Kihon, it’s a message very loud and clear to everyone. What are instructors teaching their students in their own dojo? It starts with your Kamae 構. Nagato sensei said he used to sweat by just standing in the mirror trying to perfect his Kamae. Noguichi Sensei commenced Ten Chi Jin Ryaku no Maki 天地人略の巻 classes some years ago at Honbu because of the lack of Kihon seen in visiting students. As Shidoshi, this is our responsibility in our own countries. This is our job. This is what they are expecting of us. If you don’t have good enough Kihon, your Henka 変化 will be weak and have no substance or bone. Henka is Kihon. It’s obvious who understands this and who doesn’t in mind, body and spirit 心技体.
Respect your Sensei and the art you are practicing to master. Just 道 it.

Entering the Dōjō, you must be prepared for pain. If you don’t want to experience discomfort and want to stay in your comfort zone, don’t come. Martial arts is pain. If anyone says you can learn Budô without discomfort to your entire being, they themselves don’t understand the martial path.
Martial arts is fighting. You are learning the arts of mortal combat with and without weapons. To think you can learn without experiencing pain turns it into a mere solo dance or exercise with a partner.
It’s only through blood, sweat and tears that you will come to understand the heart of the martial artist. If you are not prepared to accept this, it’s better that you do not come to the Dōjō. If you understand and accept this, your training will become enjoyable as you develop the mind, body and heart of the martial artist.
It’s important that you understand the context here. Pain is not only physical, but the pain of feeling awkward, weak, fragile etc. Growth in Budô comes from personal challenge. Your teacher and partners are there to help you confront, w**d out, and overcome your weaknesses. This itself can be hard and painful on the ego, as well as the body.
Budô is tanren ( forging the mind, body and spirit ).
If you don’t understand, than go to the Dōjō and train.

🇬🇧 KOFUKU NO SHIORI 鼓腹の栞
The way to experience ultimate happiness is to let go of all worries and regrets and know that being happy is the most satisfying of life's feelings. Reflect back on all the progress in your life and allow the positive, creative and joyous thoughts to outshine and overwhelm any sorrow or grief (bitterness) that may be lingering there in the recesses of your mind. Knowing that disease and disaster are a natural part of life, the key to overcoming adversity is with a calm spirit. Happiness is waiting there in front of you. Only you can decide whether or not you choose to experience it, take this to heart!
- Tosh*tsugu Takamatsu

🇮🇹 KOFUKU NO SHIORI

Budo Taijutsu (ninjutsu) is a very traditional , non sport related, extremely effective martial art, that includes many techniques from the 9 different schools of the Bujinkan to cultivate the body, mind and spirit of a true warrior .

We train in a friendly relaxed manner and right from the beginning you will start to learn techniques, that include locks, throws, strikes, kicks, pressure points, conflict management and effective self defence. You also learn how to use various weapons and historical techniques that are as relevant now as they were around 1000 years ago. We really insist in training not using the strength and adapting Budo to your body and characteristics, doing everything in a correct way, avoiding hurting yourself, so this is a martial art suitable for anybody, no matter age, gender or body shape. It is about freedom and perseverance.

Thats just the beginning. With all these aspects of the warrior training, apart from the physical aspects you will also improve your self confidence, self discipline and focus. Through training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu the practitioner will feel a justifiable sense of well-being and pride. Well-being, brought about by the confidence that this system will provide, this feeling of contentment will soon spread to friends and family, as they will all feel safer when you are around and will always be glad that you are there. The aura of pride will surface through being a part of this unique and like-minded warrior family, a warm, playful and tactile family that is generously dispersed across the world. Gradually students of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu through their combat training will improve their aerobic capacity and their flexibility, it is self evident that maintaining a fit and limber body is essential to longevity and health. Also, with the aid of various techniques the student is taught to achieve and maintain a higher state of awareness, this will be an obvious advantage to them in every aspect of their life.

Merge the physical techniques with the warrior spirit and a true heart and you begin to learn true ninpo. So come and explore the art of the shadow warriors of ancient Japan. Feel free to contact us and ask any question you might have.
